A Year of ATCs? - Day 90

This is my 90th make for A year of ATCs?
Woohoo - three months done!

and my second of three ATCs using 'Elmo'

from the Limited Runs Progressive Challenge on Facebook.

Image may contain: text

Here's my ATC:

I started with a pink card blank.

To this I added a background made using the bleeding tissue technique,
with a strip of washi wrapped around it.
I coloured the image with a variety of markers, cut it out and glued it in place.

I added the tag (printed on the computer, cut out with a Sissix die and with Picked Raspberry distress ink around the edges) with a flower brad.
I'm not sure how Emu became Ewe...
Finally I added some googly eyes.

Nikki C asked if I make PLs as well as just the ATCs - my ATCs go in swaps, as features on cards, as tags, and yes in Pocket Letters - which I send out as swaps or RAKs. I recently sent out two or three to surprise the recipients...
If you would like one of my pocket letters I have one up for grabs - 9 ATCs, with of course some surprises in each pocket, on Day 88 here

A Year of ATCs? - Day 88

This is my 88th make for A year of ATCs?

I recently won some stamps from Sin City Stamps...find them here on Facebook.
They were sent along with the skull stamp - a prize from Dream In Darkness.

Find that fabulous face stamp and a couple of the others here

I decided I would make a pocket letter so first I made 9 ATCs.
Each of 9 rectangles was adhered to pink neon card - not a colour I use often!

I started the rectangles by printing white card with distress ink,
rolled onto bubble wrap with a brayer.
I then placed strips of masking tape across the 9 rectangles in various directions. I added Picked Raspberry distress ink in the spaces.
Next I added strips of washi tape also in various directions.
I cut the rectangles apart and overprinted with 4 of the stamps in black, brown and red Ink.
I trimmed them to fit onto the pink neon.

I then put the 9 ATCs into a pocket letter folder.

I will link this to Dream In Darkness March Challenge

If you would like this pocket letter sent to you - comment below - I will draw a name out of the hat from any comments made in a couple of weeks.

A Year of ATCs? - Day 87

This is my 87th make for A year of ATCs?

The background for this ATC uses the 'bleeding tissue' technique, matted on a scrap of black card. This is a very muted background.

I then added Dragons Lair Hoppy Takes Cover coloured with a variety of markers.
Finally I added some tiny butterfly brads.

Left Overs

Last weekend I went on a crafty retreat - had a great time -
when I came back I found I had a few things to use up...

I had used my journal to 'use up' paint from my brayer:

I then had some circles of art tissue - so I used them with the 'bleeding tissue' technique - painting them in place with water. I then just left them to dry.

We had made some 'crackling' texture paste using
1 part cornflour
1/2 part white acrylic paint
1/4 part white PVA glue

I applied this through stencils and allowed to dry.
I then added colour using Spectrum Noir pens.

I then added 'brushed corduroy' distress ink around the edges.

You can see the 'crackle' particularly around the lady's face.

I was delighted to receive a stamp prize from Dream in Darkness recently - I will make something with it soon - watch this space!!

A Year of ATCs? - Day 86

This is my 86th make for A year of ATCs?
As today is my Dad's 90th Birthday I decided to make a Birthday ATC.

The background for this ATC uses the 'bleeding tissue' technique, matted on a scrap of brown card. I will mention more about 'bleeding tissue' in a post soon...

I then added Dragons Lair Happy Birthday Hiss coloured with a variety of markers.
I cut a number of candles using a Sissix die and coloured the flames with Zig pens.

A Year of ATCs? - Day 85

Remember my 59th make for A year of ATCs?

The theme was geometrics and the ATCs were for a pocket letter swap.
I have just had the swaps back - and I think the result is pretty brilliant!

Today's make is also for a pocket letter swap - this time the theme is "Ripped and Torn"

I made 9 of these - red card then two layers of 'torn' DP from Dragons Lair Designs- then ripped paper from an old book, then torn out words printed on the computer.

I then put them in a pocket sleeve.

I have sent off 8 - and I am now waiting for the swaps...

So that's Day 85 of A Year of ATCs!

A Year of ATCs? - Day 84

This is my 84th make for A year of ATCs?

This is ATC using Mixed Up Images from Vera Lane
put together on a background sent me by Teresa Morgan in a recent ATC swap.

I added colour with Zig real brush pens and used glossy accents on the eyes, and trimmed the whole to be slightly smaller than a red rectangle.

This is my set of Vera Lane ATCs shown over the last few days:

Dragons Lair Inspiration

Today I am showing a Quick Page Layout!

Dragons Lair has quite a few QP's available - all you have to do is use an editing software and a photo and you have a layout.

I have used Green Grass Quick Page 2 and Serif Craft Artist 2.
This only has a space for one photo, so I added a second frame from my Dragons Lair files and a few flowers.
The pictures are of my Mum, my Dad and me...

I will link this to Digitally Sweet Challenges 160

Have you looked at the current Challenge Blog Challenge?
