A Year of ATCs? - Day 235

Today I am up to Day 235 of my 'Year of ATCs?'

Another swap - this time for ATC Swap UK on facebook.

This month the theme is 'Pub Names' and this is the fourth of my 5 ATCs.

Today I went for 'The Duke of York'.

I started with blue and beige cards as the first two layers, both cut with Tonic ATC dies.
I then added the Tattered Lace die cuts.
I printed the name on the computer, trimmed it, and used a fineliner to add faux stitching.

Addicted to Stamps and More - Anything Goes - Challenge #256

Here's my card for the Anything Goes Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

I have had to make several sympathy cards recently - this is just one.
I used a cream card base with an arched window aperture.
Behind this aperture I placed some gelli plate background.
I added a pale blue banner at the bottom stamped with 'Thinking of You'
 and with a paper bow.

Hope you will enter the Challenge!

Digitally Made - there's still time...

There is still time to enter the August Digitally Made challenge...

Digitally Made is a 100% digital crafts challenge blog and this month's theme is 'Pets/Animals'!

You may remember my contribution at the beginning of the month - a digital layout using photos taken at Twycross Zoo
.

I decided to continue with my camel theme, this time using photos from when we lived in Abu Dhabi in 2006.

I have used frames, pages and tag from Dragons Lair Designs and Serif Craft Artist 2 to combine it altogether, together with the text.

Finally I added the white camels - pngs from Vera Lane's Hump Day

Hump Day - quirky camel digi stamp with sentiments

Hope you will take part in this, the fourth Monthly Challenge in Digitally Made!

Ike's World Challenges #95

Today I would like to show you my makes for Ike's World Challenges!

The current Challenge (#94) Anything Goes with an Optional Twist -
The Abyss or Under the Sea

and this is my midway post...

If you pop over to Ike's World Challenges you will find there is a super freebie to pick up:

Shark

You could use this for the Challenge - but your image is free choice...

At one time I decorated lots of 'fat pages' - in fact here are some I did for Ike a couple of years ago, using some of the Sealife Set that she has put up as a prize for this Challenge...

I decided to do two more fat pages today...the first one uses the Shark freebie.

I started with a square of white card attached to my fat page.
I then applied some Pebeo Prisme Fantasy colours and left the page to dry.
These are luminescent colours with honeycomb effects.
I am not sure if you can see this in the photo:

I then added some torn tissue paper and the shark. I printed the shark on some grey textured card and added a bit more colour with a Promarker.

For my second page I used Nietzsche's quote.

Again I started the page with white card, but then dabbed watermark ink through a stencil.
I added gold embossing powder and heat set it.

Next I added peeled paint Distress Oxide to the whole page ( the embossing acted as a resist) and spiced Marmalade round the edges. I then spritzed it with water to add some splashes to the ink.

I then added Tooth and Claw, printed on white card, coloured with Promarkers and cut out.

I will link this to Dream in Darkness August Challenge

Look forward to seeing your creations in Challenge #95...

Happy Little Stampers Video #2

This my second video for Happy Little Stampers!

Here is a brand new video tutorial using the

Happy Little Stampers 'Especially For You' stamp set.

I wanted to show you how to make a card on which the main features are stamps from this set.

In this tutorial I will also show you heat embossing, how to use Distress Inks to create brayered backgrounds and how to use them as water colours.

 Thank you for watching!

I also made an ATC - Day 234 of my 'Year of ATCs?' with some of the same elements as in the video card.

A Year of ATCs? - Day 233

Today I am up to Day 233 of my 'Year of ATCs?'

Another swap - this time for ATC Swap UK on facebook.

This month the theme is 'Pub Names' and this is the third of my 5 ATCs.

Today I went for 'The Hanging Gate'.

I started with blue card as the base and a scrap of Gelli plate background as the next layer, both cut with Tonic ATC dies. I then added the gate - a Tattered Lace Travel Embellishments die - cut from Kraft card. I printed the name on the computer, trimmed it, and used a fineliner to add faux stitching.

A Year of ATCs? - Day 231

Today I am up to Day 231 of my 'Year of ATCs?'

Another swap - this time for ATC Swap UK on facebook.

Last month I sent off the following selection -
from the ATCs I have made for my 'Year of ATCs'.

The theme was 'Initial of My First Name'

This month the theme is 'Pub Names' and this is the first of my 5 ATCs.

I used pink card as the base, matted with a black and white rose DP from my stash.
I used the same card behind the name and on which to stamp the rose (an individual wooden stamp from my stash). I punched this with an oval and added it on dimensionals. The name is also on dimensionals. Finally, I added a rose embellishment.

A Year of ATCs? - Day 230

Today I am up to Day 230 of my 'Year of ATCs?'

I am making 9 ATCs to send off and swap...when my set comes back I will make a pocket letter on the theme of 'Fairground'.

For each ATC I started with a scrap of purple card cut with a Tonic ATC die.
I then added another layer cut with another Tonic die from a Brusho background.
I then added part of a big wheel die cut (the die came from Craftstash).

A Year of ATCs? Day 229

Today I am up to Day 229 of my 'Year of ATCs?'

Today's ATC is a bit special.

My great nephew Lucas drew me a picture of some 'creatures of the ocean'.
I think they are Angler Fish and Jelly Fish.

I started with a scrap of Distress Oxide background cut with a Tonic ATC die.
I cut out the image with another die and added fineliner round this.
I then added some colour with Zig real brush pens and some tiny googly eyes.
