Foxy ATC

I just had a little play dabbing alcohol inks on glossy card.
(The inks had just arrived in my Itsy Bitsy order!!)

I then overstamped with a 'coffee' archival ink.
The fox stamp was a Freebie from 'Get Stamping' Magazine.

I ended up with various images and backgrounds, differing in 'muddiness'!

I trimmed, cut some out, layered up, added to a blue 2.5 x 3.5 rectangle.

May has definitely been a pink month!

Just take a look at my last post - DT for LOC!!

And the other stuff I have done this month...

This next card is no different...

I wanted to follow this sketch

I started by cutting and folding my card blank like this - that fold is a mountain!

I used many pieces of Dragons Lair Designs papers and image to mat and layer on to the card blank.
The image was printed directly onto the DP which still shows through the Promarker colouring.

Finally I added lots of glitter and bling...
the butterflies are die cut using SU's 'Beautiful Wings'.
I decided against a sentiment on the front but I can stamp one on the inside DP
when I decide where this card will be sent!!

My little granddaughters would probably love it!

 The finished article!

New Challenge at LOC

Challenge #32 Girly with The East Wind and Sassy Studio Designs

For my DT inspiration I decided to use The East Wind's 'Meowy Christmas'!
To make it Girly I printed it on pink card!

I first matted and layered my square card base with two pieces of Docraft Christmas paper.
I coloured the image with a touch of red Promarker and added some fine glitter.
Not sure if you can see it in this photo!
My cat die-cut is the same green as in the festive paper...with some wobbly eyes!
the final shapes I punched from red shiny paper.
Definitely left of centre - quirky and unusual!!
Hope you like it!

Have you got Washi Tape in your stash?

The current challenge at Get Inky! is to use Washi Tape...
there's still plenty of time to join in!

In the meantime, I have been thinking about the challenge that will start in a week's time -
to make an 'itty bitty' card!

I have made some for my DT post but you will have to wait for that post to see them!

In the meantime I am showing you this one:

The card base is just a little over 3 by 3 inches.
I punched around a pink sparkly paper for the next layer.
The silhouette is just one that has been in my die cut folder.
I think the pearls were the final touch!

Do you ever make a card and think...NO...

This week - yes, several times...
But then - it's strange when you put things on sale and the cards you least expect to go are bought first...

Anyway I wanted to have a go at the 52(Christmas) Card Throwdown - May Recipe

It's just been one of those weeks...I am full of cold, have had a dreadful headache for 3 days, and the Internet has been dodgy - so why should I expect my card making to be OK??

I thought I would start with a card base and directly emboss on to it.
So... I put the image on the wrong side so it opened right to left not, left to right.
I decided to trim it and add colour to the 'deboss' side
using a felt pad and ink from green and gold ink pads.
I then 'fussy' cut it out.

I stuck this to this lovely hand made paper card base from Itsy Bitsy -
an amazing crafty outlet I have discovered here in India.

I tied the bow - yes I like that.

I then started working on the coloured in sentiment - it didn't seem to go!
the gold backing behind was supposed to link up with the gold in the ornament - it looks too yellow. The greens and red Promarkers are the wrong colours...

Back to the drawing board...

This time I used gold metallic Promarker and a Holly Green.
The 'rhinestones' are 'pearls' and turquoise gems.

But it didn't stop there...look at this lovely inspirational photo from Pinspirational Challenges!

Do you think it works?

The lovely heart at the base is a digi from Dragons Lair Designs.
The rest is just stuff from my stash, the card base from Itsy Bitsy.

Anyway I will link it to Pinspirational Challenges

Get Inky Challenge with Washi

At the beginning of last year I first came across Washi Tape.
I asked my Japanese friend Chikako what washi meant - and washi just means 'Japanese paper'.
It could be anything from the paper used in screens in Japanese houses to placemats made of paper.
Chikako gave me some washi placemats...

I am not sure if you can see the lovely texture in this paper!

Anyway the current challenge at Get Inky! is to use Washi Tape in your creation.

I decided to use the May sketch from the Inky Moonbeams.

My original card blank was square and white.
I matted this with a paper from amy tangerine's 'ready set go' paper pad.
I then added another square of white card edged with 'Woodland Park' Washi Tape.

I used two more pages from the paper pad to make the centre squares - after first embossing them in a Stampin Up 'Honeycomb' embossing folder.
Finally I added the bee - a Get inky! Stamp.
I matted the white card onto the paper I used on the base.
I used a tacky glue 'ink pad' to stamp the image and then added gilding flakes to make a gilt bee!

This might be a better photo...I think the gilding is a little more visible.

Hope you will join us at Get Inky!

Black, White & Yellow or a Sketch or Flowers or...

I just received an email which took my eye...
It was talking about Peruvian Lily blooms...

Then I saw the current challenge at
Fusion Card Challenges
and I was really inspired when I saw some of the creations!

The challenge is to use black, white & yellow or a sketch or flowers.

I decided to use the lot...

I got out my 'yellow' scrap folder and put the base together on a square white card blank:

I then wanted some flowers - not quite the lilies - but flowers from my stash -
the black and white petals are Papermania.

Elephant #6

I wonder if you are like me?

During the last few days I have been working on a number of crafty projects...

A bauble made with stitched rosettes of ribbon, pinned onto a polystyrene ball through buttons!

I have been continuing with my kimono quilt and starting to collect blocks
for a friendship quilt with an Indian theme.

I wonder if you can pick out my block?

My Indian embroidery - oh and a bit of cross-stitch!

(Not mentioning the cards and ATC's!)

Anyway while I was making the blocks to swap for the Indian quilt I had a few scraps of material...
so I made a card...the dear little silver elephants came from 'Something Special' in Bandra.
The button is hand embroidered from Ahmedabad and cost 30 Rs (about 30p).

Happy Crafting!

Why did I buy that??

mmm...why DID I buy that??

Well... I decided to do a hot pink for Summer card...that's how I feel - it is so hot here in India!!
The image is from Dragonslair Designs

I scored and folded a pink card base and matted it with another pale pink card.
I then added a layer of pink lips - from the  DCWV Rockstar Mat Stack -
and added a strip of me lips tape.

Finally, I added the image, stamped on the same pink as the card base,
with just a little red Promarker and lots of gems.

I am going to link this to

Hope this is a better photo...

Just for something different...

I have had a lovely day getting inky today!

My final creation is a tag...

Firstly I cut a pink card base and matted that with a piece of

I then used two images using Kaisercraft 'Tic Toc' and a home-made
rainbow coloured stamp pad using reinkers.
I trimmed these to fit as shown.

I distressed each element with 'antique linen'.
I overstamped some areas with Kaisercraft 'keys'.

Then I added a rainbow ribbon and 'heavy metal'!

I will link this to

This would also fit Tag Tuesday Metal

Elephant #5

You may have noticed I am working on an elephant theme at the moment!!

This is a Fresh Brewed design 'Daisy with Flowers'

I printed the image so I could fold the card to fit a 4 x 6 inches envelope.
I added a touch of colour using Promarkers
and stamped the sentiment from SU's 'Curvy Verses'.

I will link this card to

and Fresh Brewed Choose Your Challenge - floral inspiration from the photo.

Elephant #4

I was just looking at elephant digis over at Bugaboo -

and came across a paisley one - very appropriate for India as the paisley pattern appears everywhere!

I decided to play with it a little and use my computer to print it, small size, in blue.

This was to make an ATC - I matted some red sparkly paper on a base of red card
and then layered on the image.

I added a few gems and a red flower...

Saturday and Kevin's at work...

I will start the ironing in a minute but in the meantime I have been playing!!

Again I was trying the Martha Stewart edge and corner punches round a shape.
This time it was a 5 x 5 square and flower punches.

I attached this to a square brown card blank and then added a Meljen's image - 'lovely little apron'.
I had printed this on white and on some DP from my stash so I could paper piece...

Then came the embellishing!!
Before I added the top layer of 'apron' with thin dimensionals,
I used white glue to add rows of sequins.

I then got out my bling gun and added the hyacinth gems.
Finally to my flower stash for a few flowers...
