Scrapbookingncraft # 9

I was delighted when Mel asked me to join her Design Team. I have enjoyed using stencils, chipboards and serviettes from Scrapbookingncraft for some years now...

Find our Design Team makes on Facebook HERE

This is my second February make... this time in a journal.

My first step was to add book paper to a pair of kraft pages using matt gel medium, leaving stripes of the paper underneath.

I trimmed this and left it to dry.

My next step is to add blue acrylic through the circle stencil.

12 by 12 Plastic Stencil Collage Circle

I over-stamped this with a dark brown using bottle and jar tops.

Next I added the black cardstock Flowers in Circles - I cut this apart.

Finally I added a sentiment from my stash - this was from Michelle Grant Designs

WOYWW #769

It is Wednesday so I am linking to the Stamping Ground

Follow the link to find out more about What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday and maybe join in... This is my post for WOYWW #769

Here's my desk today - I am in the process of embellishing some cardboard junk journal pages.
I started off by adding colour using my Gelli plate, stencils and acrylics.

On the desk easel is the heart journal page I made on cardboard pieces  - more details here.

It also has the junk journal I made from the heart-shaped chipboards.

More details here

We often see rabbits across the road from our house but look at this...

Just off to aquarobics... so see you later!

A couple of Challenges

I suddenly realised it's ages since I joined in several challenges that I used to do all the time.

I noticed that ScrappyMo had had to close Rudolph Days  - sorry to hear of the ill health Maureen and Al -

and that Helen had steeped into the breach.

I will try and enter as much as I can... This is the link to the new Rudolph Days Challenge

My card is basically a collage of pieces, with a die cut on top that was lying on my desk.
This was based on a  idea from Donna's workshop in a Zoom Craft and Chat with the UK Stampers Network which I still participate in although I live in Australia.

The sentiment was also found among scraps on my desk.

As this is made up of snippets of card - even the die cut - I will also link it to

Another challenge that seems to have slipped my mind...

Creative Warriors Inspiration Team - Term 3 Post #14

This is my next inspiration for the Creative Warriors Inspiration Team

with Michelle Grant Designs

You will see our inspirational creations on the Facebook Group

I love to browse the Op Shops - recently I found these heart-shaped chipboards. I think the idea is that they could be hung on door handles - but I thought they would make a good February junk journal.

The current February Challenge is to create an Art Journal:

Create an ART JOURNAL...
Let’s play over the next 28 + 1 days, Yes 2024 is a leap year...
There are 7 challenges comprising of 6 themes & 1 cover.
Complete it in a week or take the whole month we don’t mind.
In a journal of any size, handmade or store bought create pages of the selected themes, using any MCW images in each page, this can be wallpapers, add ons or beautiful facial images & don’t forget the tiny words then upload to the album in Michelle’s Creative Warriors Facebook page and tag #cwfaj on your social media platforms.
The Themes:
#1: stencilling & flowers
#2. birds and butterflies
#3: stitching & fabric
#4: decorated tag & ribbon
#5: dripping ink & faces
#6: stamping & envelope
#7: your cover
So I used these my chipboards for the challenge...
I started with covering the pieces with bookpaper.

I then used my Gelli plate to add acrylic paint to these - and when dry,  used stencils to add an extra layer. (I put them to dry on packing paper!) I painted the edges with black acrylic.

I have a box of MCW pre-printed images and sentiments - and I picked through these for my pages.

#1: stencilling & flowers

The stencil I used for this page was lots of dots. When dry, I used a black Posca to make these into flowers.

I then added an image from Michelle Grant's Enough

#2. birds and butterflies

In this second page I used Annette Gearside's Muddles and Puddles from Collab Pack #2
I painted this with water colours and used some Noolibird wooden stamps to add the birds..
I then added hearts cut from a paper from Collab Pack #1 and the sentiment.

#3: stitching & fabric

I used both faux stitching and stitching using embroidery thread including beads.
I collaged various items including fabric hearts and flowers printed on and cut out from a gelli pull.
These are from Elisa Ablett's Blossoms

#4: decorated tag & ribbon

This is the tag I added - the background is from
Michelle Grant's Brave Warrior wallpapers
I added a paper doll using Michelle Grant's Paper Dolls plain card, covered with a piece of the paper from Michelle Grant's Believe printed on vellum. The sentiments on this page are from Fi Gains' Thank the Trees.

I tied all four pages with ribbon.

#5: dripping ink & faces

On this page I added the image from Michelle Grant's Flourish and faces from Cindy Porter's Animal Heads

#6: stamping & envelope

To make the envelope I used a paper from  Michelle Grant's Brave
I used a foam stamp and a circular tube to stamp with black acrylic and an Art by Marlene stamp with black archival to add the images. I then embellished these with white Posca.

Inside the envelope are three ATCs featuring a Tracy Evans stamp and then butterflies from
Michelle Grant's Wings and Things #1

#7: your cover

For this page I used an image from Karen Yates' Vintage Vibes
The main sentiment is from Collab #1

Another junk journal spread.

I wanted to share what I was doing with my pages of upcycled cardboard with my friends at the UK Stampers Network. So I used this spread as a Zoom workshop...

The pages are about 16 by 20 cm or 6.25 by 8 in. My original plan was to punch a hole in a corner and connect them with a metal ring. However the pages are very thick so I decided on two holes and ribbon.

The first step was to add bookpaper to two pages with gel medium.

The next step was to add acrylic paint via a Gelli plate.

I added black paint around the edges and through a stencil.

I then used two pieces of Gelli pulls to make the heart - half on one side and a opening fold on the other.

I added the freebie image from the Gecko Galz Monthly Card Challenge - just as useful on a journal page!

Inside I added the words from Tam's freebie affirmations (Willowing Art)
