Today another challenge starts at Create and Inspire
The theme is Sombre and Happy and it's sponsored by
Ike's Art
and Wilmasart
For my second card I used Wilmasart's
Church Window and Cat by the Door
I started with a strip of lilac card to make my card base -
4.5 inches by 12 inches scored at 4inches and 8 inches
to make a trifold card.
I matted the three forward facing faces with DP from my stash.
I used Promarkers to colour the images,
an Arched nesting die to cut the Church Window
and a square butterfly edged die to cut the door.
I then Distressed the edges with a pink and purple Distress Ink.
I wonder if this counts as Jagged Edges Mrs A? Not quite the torn or scissor thing but certainly not straight edged!!
I will link it to the Butterfly Challenge and await your comment!!
I then used SU flower and leaf dies to cut 'windows' in the front face and SU Beautiful Wings to cut the butterflies.
Do go over to Create and Inspire
and see the other fabulous DT makes.
I look forward to seeing your creations!

I chose to make two items using images that I thought could be sombre or happy...
The first is Ike's Art Totem
I started with a card base made using
(See more info here)
I coloured the image with Promarkers and added to the base.
Finally I added an eyelet and ribbons and some silver feather embellishments.

Hi Susan. I love your little scene you have created here with the tri fold card. Each page having a surprise element as you open it up. Your edges are not quite what I had in mind but I like your thinking process and I will accept your jagged edges on the flower die opening!! Thankyou for fluttering by my #30.Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting design and I enjoyed reading how you made it. I am not sure about the jagged edges, but Mrs A is okay with them, and her word is what counts. I love what you have made. It is just that bit different. Kate x
