Last weekend I attended UKSN's first Residential Retreat -
I had so much fun I will definitely attend the next one!!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Nuneaton
where a small Conference room was just right for our crafty activities!
Next door the Bermuda Park provided a venue for lunches and dinner.

It was organised by Mickey and Elaine
and attended by Ann, Karen, Nicola, Sue D, Sue T and me, Sue R.

We spent Day 1 enjoying a workshop run by Mickey.

The plan was to make an album using a few sheets of white A4 card, distressed with Broken

China Distress Ink, and a beautiful Graphic 45 By The Sea Paper Pad.

Mine is still a work in progress but the following photos

give an idea of the box container, inside pages and tags.

When it is finished I will show you more!!

Day 2 comprised 2 workshops: the first led by Sue T, the second by Elaine.

Sue T's workshop was to alter an inexpensive IKEA mirror frame
 - and mine is now in pride of place!!

First the mirror was removed and the frame lightly sanded.

Next a selection of embossed papers and die cuts were arranged around the frame.

These were put in place with 'glue and seal'.

Next black gesso was painted all over, taking care to cover all edges and spaces.

Finally 'Inka Gold' was added to the dry frame and once set rubbed over with a dry cloth to bring out the shine.

All that is needed then is to replace the mirror...

The third workshop was to alter a jar for a vase and make a bouquet of Stampin Up flowers.
Unfortunately time ran away with us - so mine is still on my work table...

Here are the fruits of our labours:

A good time was had by all!!

Happy Crafting!
