Here is make for HIMCR #375 - Freestyle!
The sponsor is Limited Runs Digital Stamps!
Recipe:
1. The image I have used is Triple Layer Cake (section 71 - 80). I coloured it with Copics and cut it out.
2. I replaced the cherry on the top with a pumpkin lantern (Tim Holtz ephemera).
3. I started with a square white card blank, matted it with blank card and then added a layer of the Stampin' Up paper.
4. I then added the image - I was hoping the decorations on top of the icing would look like brains...

SPOT PRIZE Number 3!!
I was thinking of pumpkin or Jack o' Lanterns - when I was a child we made turnip lanterns, the turnips coming from my Dad's allotment. I think pumpkins only became readily available in the UK in the 90s.
It appears the Jack o' Lanterns originated in Ireland (in the 19th century)
and the idea was taken to America by migrants. Once there they discovered that pumpkins were much easier to carve!
(I agree with that remembering the turnips!!)
Anyway now - we all like to carve pumpkins - these were from last year:
But my question - another poem for you...From which poem is the follow stanza from?

Oh, fruit loved of boyhood! the old days recalling,
When wood-grapes were purpling and brown nuts were falling!
When wild, ugly faces we carved in its skin,
Glaring out through the dark with a candle within!
Happy Hopping!
