I will be sharing today's Halloween make on Leigh's page...Day 1
~~~~~~~
Ike is sponsoring both Leigh's 31DOH and Janis' Cat Lovers Hop so I thought I would start today with an old make - a set of three tags that I made using two of Ike's cat images. The original post is here.
Ike commented on my post yesterday - I am sure I am going to be using the expression she used in the comment regularly from now on...
Today my new make is another page from my Halloween scrapbook. I am going to link this to both 31DOH and the Cat Lovers Hop.
This was the last page I shared - I thought this was pretty busy so I thought I would try and make the next one less so.
What do you think?
I have once again made a collage of tags, having first started with a couple of squares of paper from my scraps (distressed around the edges with shabby shutters):
The technique on this tag is Distress Oxide: Micro-glaze resist
(Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry LIVE 2017).
Method:
- Apply micro-glaze through stencil using ink blending tool.
- Rub Distress Oxide colours on craft sheet.
- Mist with water to form colour droplets.
- Swipe tag through inks and lift off.
- Dry with heat tool.
- Repeat previous steps using different colours of Oxide for each additional layer.
The technique on this second tag is White emboss resist with Watercolour Wash.
Method:
- White emboss a stamped image onto the tag.
- Choose 4 or 5 Distress Ink colours and smear onto craft mat.
- Spray a corner of each colour.
- Use a slim paintbrush to apply the colours with a lot of water all over the tag.
- Dry with heat tool
- I added the sentiment stamp (Doo Lally Pip - Create) with black Archival ink.
The technique on this tag is Brushless Watercolour.
Method:
- Take a large background stamp and ink it with several Distress Inks.
- Spray the inked stamp with water.
- Stamp tag and dry with heat tool.
- With a blending tool, blend the edges around the stamped image.
- I added the sentiment stamp again with black Archival ink.
I then added the images:
These images were a Friday Freebie from Oddball Art Stamps in May.
These are available when you subscribe to the Oddball Newsletter.
I printed Cat Woman and two of her cats, coloured them with Copics and cut them out.
I coloured them in a very similar way for my perpetual calendar in May!!
