I discovered "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday"a couple of weeks ago and I have been delighted with all the lovely comments other players have left me when they hopped by - And they are making some really inspiring items!
SO here I am again...and I will link this post to the Stamping Ground.
To be honest I have only just realised that it is Wednesday - we have had our granddaughters staying for a couple of days. Because of lockdown this is the first time we have been able to see them, since moving to Australia - and now Victoria is going into lockdown again...
Anyway we have had fun, even doing a little bit of crafting - here they are with Aunty Sophie lighting the candles they had just made:
As a consequence, not much has been happening on my desk for WOYWW 578!
You can see that pelican never ending card that I got out to show Izzy - and a scattering of pens... I have been taking part in Leigh's Summer Buzz blog hop - and I had one final image on my desk to colour. I thought I would try and get it made into something in the last few minutes of the hop!

Having coloured the image with mainly Promarkers
I made an easel card.
I started with a white card base and an extra square of white card to make the base. I matted these with a paper from crafterschoice Minerals 12 by 12 pad.
I then added the image trimmed and divided in two pieces as shown in the pictures.
The stand uses a sentiment from Leigh's Honeybees and Sentiments Set.
Finally I added a bow and a flower embellishment.
I will add this to “The Summer BUZZ Blog Hop”
It is always difficult to make these cards lie flat when you want to photograph them.
So I used my new purchase - the Wendy Vecchi 7" Stay station - to help.
I really bought this to help with stencilling... so watch this space for when I get the opportunity to show you...
All for now... Happy Crafting and happy WOYWW - and thanks for visiting!
Great way to end the SUMMER BUZZ blog hop... Love the blue wings on the bees! Great hopping with you! See you next time!
ReplyDeleteGreat coloring on the Bees wings.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see the family again - way more important than crafting!! I didn't realise you were going into lockdown again, so are a couple parts of the UK. Love your colouring, the bee card is really pretty - I do love bees, when I had the chance to make a garden from scratch two years ago, every plant chosen is pollinator friendly!

Morning Susan. How lovely to have those youngsters around you for a couple of days. I hadn't heard that Victoria was going back into Lockdown. I have family out there. That card is great fun. Well done. So glad you are enjoying being a part of WOYWW! Such a great friendly bunch of folks.
ReplyDeleteTake care. Stay safe. God bless.

We are back to Stage 3 restrictions and the easing off that was going to happen at the beginning of July has been postponed. In the several postcode hotspots it is more restricted. Visitors allowed is back to 5 plus family members rather than a total of 20. Fortunately we had a family gathering of 9 of us just before it was brought down again. Now we can only see everyone in sections!
DeleteBeautiful colouring on the busy bees - how clever you are, makes such a lovely card. Aren’t your girls all alike! Nice to have the granddaughters around, hope they aren’t visiting from out of state or they’ll be locked down with you? It makes me happy that you’re enjoying WOYWW, and if you’re actually getting inspiration from it, its all worthwhile. ONly this morning I;‘VE been ‘eanbled’ into buying a bowl and two new stamps...its an amazing place!!
ReplyDeleteThey live in Victoria - about 4 hours away, near Paynesville. They only came over for a flying visit and are back home now. They are my youngest son's daughters. The rest of the family all live relatively close by.
DeleteIt makes everything worthwhile when we can be with family again doesn't it? Sad to hear that Victoria is going back into lockdown. I couldn't imagine how difficult it must be for the kids doing outback school from home but now it seems so natural, now that we've all had to do the same sort of thing. Love the colouring on the bee car - lovely and bright! Have a lovely week, Lisa-Jane #15
ReplyDeleteWe seem to be getting the second spike - hopefully it will settle down again soon. Yes lovely to be with my family!
DeleteLovely to see you are enjoying the get together through WOYWW. with so many like minded crafters/artists and makers. Sorry to hear Melbourne has had a spike in cases and pray that this comes under control quickly. We are just getting used to some lessing of restrictions in NSW that I would struggle to have to go back to the beginning. Stay safe as you keep creating. Lovely cards :)

What gorgeous cards have a good week Helen #1
ReplyDeleteBeautiful easel card Susan, love the blue bee wings!
ReplyDeleteI’ve heard of a few places going back into lockdown, it’s sad that some people don’t listen to the rules of social distancing!

Oh dear, this second wave seems to be on its way. Hope it stays away from the NW of England for the next month or so certainly (I have to go into hospital for a tiny op). Stay safe and well but good to know you got to see family when it was safe to do so.
ReplyDeleteLovely bees, they are so lovely and chubby and I have a definite soft spot for them.
Keep crafting and safe
Hugs, Neet 5 xx
This is a really elegant card! I love the soft colors and design! Thanks for teaching me so much this hop!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the group! It's a fun group of ladies and it's always inspiring to me to see other's crafty adventures. This pandemic has made it hard to see loved one so I am glad to hear you are blessed with a visit from your granddaughters. Sorry to hear lockdown is coming back. I am in the US and we are having crazy spikes in cases. Yet I still see some people without masks and not social distancing. It's frustrating but I suspect another full lockdown is in our near future. Enough gloom talk. Your cards are lovely. Bees are the rage lately. I made some two weeks ago and had so much fun. Today we had heavy rains but the sun is trying to peek out so maybe I can get out on my covered deck for a reading session and tea. Stay well and I will see you next week.

aww lovely to have been able to spend time with family . gorgeous cards. have a fab week. Soojay#14
ReplyDeleteStunning easel card Sue, love how you coloured my Busy Bees to create this BEEuty! Lovely to see your granddaughters & sorry to hear you’re going back into lockdown, I expect Southern California will soon be in full lockdown again as we continue to be plagued with ignorant selfish idiots! Thank you so much for playing in LeighSBDesigns Summer BUZZ Blog Hop, you rocked it! Hope to see you for Christmas in July ;0)
ReplyDeleteSome really gorgeous projects on your desk this week, Susan, and again your pen holder is something that catches my eye! Thank you for visiting, and I'm glad you like my knitting. We ate some tofu tonight (my first taste of it) and it was very good although I think the texture wasn't quite right. I need lots more practice!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,

Hi Susan, love the bee card! I invested in a STAYtion last week, but haven't used it as yet. I purchased it for when I stencil, so I'll watch your blog with interest! So pleased you were able to spend time with your granddaughters. We are having our grandsons to stay in a couple of weeks - I don't know who is looking forward to it the most - my daughter and hubby for the peace, or the boys for an adventure, or Mr M and I because we have missed them so much. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #16
ReplyDeleteLove your last project for the Summer Hop. Happy WOYWW , didn’t get my post done today. Had an off day, mostly with Dolly on my lap!
ReplyDeletePrecious times indeed where family are involved, I hope the second spike is kinder than the first, we all need to keep our wits about us no matter where we are in the world.
ReplyDeleteI have the larger WV Stay-tion and use it when i'm crafting outdoors on breezy days, lately i've been finding it extremely useful for fabric art and those magnets keep my pins all in one place..
Lovely coloured Bee card, so cheery.. Happy WoywW so nice to see you here Tracey #8
Lovely "Bee" card! Great coloring and I think spending time with grandchildren if you are lucky to have them goes way above crafting! So enjoy your time with them and craft when they are not there or with them!
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs

Happy Belated WOYWW and thank you for your earlier visit. Wow, you used to live in Haverfordwest?! When did you move to Australia. I have an aunt and her family near Perth, but never visited. I really don't know how I would cope with the long flights. We are still on almost full lockdown here, but non-essential shops and businesses are slowly reopening, and from 13th July some holiday accommodation will also be ready for business. I have actually liked the quieter roads, but it will still be good to get back to some sort of normal. Ali x #18
ReplyDeleteWe have moved around a lot over the years following my husband's job. We both went to Sheffield University and then stayed on in Sheffield during the 70s. We moved to Haverfordwest in 1980 then Anglesey in 1984. Next was Macclesfield before becoming expats. Our first overseas country was Australia in 98. After that we have lived in Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, India and then back to the UK. We returned to Melbourne in February just before Covid became the huge problem...
DeleteHi Susan, nice to see you again and pleased you're enjoying being with us. I love your bee card it's so sweet and I bet you've had a great time with your grand daughters. There are areas here in the UK that are going back to Lockdown sadly, though we've been quite lucky in the place where we live so far. Take care all of you and have a lovely crafty belated woyww, Angela x20x
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely yo get to see your grandkids and craft with them! Lovely projects too, glad you are enjoying WOYWW. Stay Safe, stay well, Cindy #27
ReplyDeleteOh such a busy bee you've been with the bee hop or should that be buzzzzz. Thanks for the visit BJ#23
ReplyDeleteHow fun to have your granddaughters come to visit. My mom has stopped by our home for a short visit as well. It’s weird that we haven’t seen her in months but we need to be careful. Love everything you shared on the blog today. I love that bee card! Thanks for your earlier visit. Have a great week. Dorlene #33
ReplyDeleteLucky you being able to see your family - I love the picture of your granddaughters. I havent seen my Mum since February and really miss her. The Bee card is wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Happy belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#17)
ReplyDeleteA lovely card Susan and I am so glad you got to spend time with your granddaughters before going back into lockdown. Scary times. Stay safe and Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteHi.Thank you for the your kind comments. Anne X 25
ReplyDeleteThat 'bee day' card is beautiful and I may borrow the idea... love it! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier this week. Happy, belated woyww and hug-from-a-distance! (a very long distance I think... you are on the other side of the world seen from the Netherlands!) Marit #26
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to see your grandchildren, and hope you are not in lockdown again. Love the bee day card. Ani
ReplyDeleteHI Susan! I've been eying that Wendy Vecchi magnetic board - did you get the positioner as well? I wonder if I would need the positioner if I have the Tim Holtz stamper thing. I love your card - the blue wings add so much action to the card, I feel like they are really flying! How nice to have been able to visit with your Grandchildren! Thanks for your earlier visit, have a great week! Lindart #34
ReplyDeleteI bought the smaller board which I think will be perfect for stencilling and also placing behind journal pages to make a solid base to stamp on. I did buy the extra see through ruler but it does come with a white magnetic ruler. So far I have not had the chance to use it in earnest but it was quite good for flattening a marbled background rather than all my heavy books!
DeleteWelcome to this group, its great to see so many crafters workspaces. Pleased you are able to see your grandchildren and hopefully the lockdowns dont impact too muc
