What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday #604

         WOYWW

It's Wednesday again - so I am linking this post to the Stamping Ground.

Again a very busy week so not much crafting has been done.

And in fact I didn't know whether I would be able to post anything. I managed to visit a few of you last week but then my computer crashed and it has had to be put back to factory settings - consequently no files on here at the moment...

Anyway here's my desk picture for WOYWW 604!

It's my messy area in my utility room - my daughter gave me a kit for one of my Christmas presents and the white painted pieces are part of it. I will show more as it proceeds. You can also see part of a journal - two pages still unfinished!
The liquidiser is just there because that is where it lives!

My next step is to continue with this
journal page courtesy of Niamh Baly as I have just managed to watch the rest of the video - I will show it finished next week!

We did make a gingerbread beach hut and mince pies - and we burnt the last of the Advent candles...

and Christmas Day came and went.
We were very fortunate as we could have our family for either breakfast

 or dinner (or both)

The restrictions in Victoria have very much eased as we now have had more than 60 days with no new cases, deaths or active cases!

The granddaughters persuaded Kevin to put on a Santa Suit and then had fun wearing it themselves.

On Boxing Day we went out in the canoes to see the Christmas lights around the Lakes - some of them are amazing! The second picture shows as we approach our house on the way back.

And now - well we are starting to pick tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden. We tried crispy kale Shoshi - it is delicious!

Hopefully more craft next week...

Wishing you a very happy 2021!

Happy WOYWW !!

  1. SO hope the lack of cases continues for you Susan. Things are getting pretty dire here in the UK. I am still convinced that not enough people are following the ruleas and I am dreading schools going back. The only bright spot is the roll out of the Oxford vaccine which is much easier to store and many more doses on order than the other two. Stay safe, happy WOYWW and Happy New Year. Sarah #9

  2. So glad you managed to have a large gathering for Christmas. Nice to know that some people could even if we couldn't.
Love the idea of the canoe ride.
Hugs and Happy New Year - may it continue as it is for you.

  6. We went to sis in laws but then couldn't have grand kids to come over boxing day as we'd gone from tier 2 to 3 and they were in tier 4! Now we are all in tier 4. I wonder how many tiers there'll be in the end. Its like making a cake! Happy WOYWW, Keep Crafting. Stay safe and a very Happy New Year!

  7. Looks like a great family day to me Susan, just what the Doc ordered. Lovely to read that another Grandpa can’t resist his granddaughters pleas! Must be lovely to live on the lake and watch all the twinkly lights, super lovely to cruise about in a specially lit canoe!

  13. I love crispy kale! Your family Christmas looks festive and homey. You must realize how lucky you are to have been able to celebrate together! May 2021 bring the same sort of togetherness to us all.

PS Love the beginnings of the journal page - is it from YouTube or is it from a class by Niamh Baly? If not a paid class can you share a link? I think Helen mentioned her and I have watched a few videos. I like her style and your beginnings of this page look fun!
    Happy (almost) 2021!

  19. Thanks for your visit, Susan - glad you liked my dress and the bee card! That recipe looks fantastic. With all those eggs in it it might be hard to veganise - I'd have to experiment with ground flax seed I think. I'd also leave out the oil. I roast a lot of veggies without oil, and of course they don't come out crisp but they are still good.

  20. Happy New Year, Susan!
I feel your computer pain! I am only now getting around to visiting people because of computer issues.

Your journal page is coming along nicely!

    Stay safe and be well,

  21. Oh wow, what a bummer with the pc! Mine is almost full up and I am dreading it stopping altogether because it has no memory left!! Photos of course are the main culprit. Love that you had a great Christmas day and were able to be with family. Sorry to hear that your covid cases are there again, how disappointing when you had managed to be clear for so long. Frankly it seems to to be out of control here in the UK. Sorry I'm so late - life and stuff!! stay well, stay safe, Cindy #18

  23. Hi Susan, just spotted your comment from last week - so sorry I couldn't visit earlier - I'll be back later today to find out what that kit is all about - intrigued! Sounds like you had lots of fun with your family over Christmas - let's hope they can keep the infections down in Australia - it's too late for us as we've just entered our third lockdown. Canoeing on Boxing Day to see the Christmas lights sound marvellous! Take care and see you later! xx zsuzsa (from last week)
