Today's make is just a simple card:

The image is  from Leigh's OddleighBee Set.
It was coloured with Copics and trimmed to size.

The base is a kraft card blank matted with paper from an Alla Prima 6 by 6 paper collection.

I added some orange die cut honeycomb and bee (from an Apple Blossom die set) and a Tim Holtz die cut piece of foliage in green.

Today's make is a Double Z shaped card

The image is  from Leigh's Honey Bees  and Sentiment Set
It was coloured with Copics and trimmed to size.

This fold reminded me of when I was on a Crafty retreat with the UK Stampers Network where I made these:

However the Z shaped card is the current fold for the Butterfly Challenge
and I will link this card there.
Mrs A shows how to make the fold here
The Butterfly wheel is as follows:

I used a striped (Zebra) Zinc paper as the base then a Zigzag paper next including light Purple and Flesh tone.

Next I added the image matted on moss green card followed by a scattering of butterflies (using Stampin' Ups Beautiful Wings - a very old favourite)

Finally I added some orange die cut bees  (an Apple Blossom die)
so that the theme was followed through.

Creepy Girls are the Cutest!

Lots of spiders and webs here at the moment...

I have been revisiting the technique of putting Distress Ink within an embossing folder.
Early last year I made a whole bunch of these backgrounds to make a series of 'Owl' cards using  Cute Big Eye Owl on a tree branch #58. Today I added to the collection...Scroll down to the next post to see more details.

To make these backgrounds I used four distress inks and smeared them across a Stampin' Up tree embossing folder.

I found it best to just smear in one direction - horizontally across the folder. I then placed a square of white card in the folder and rolled it through the Big Shot.
Recently I came across the woodgrain folder from Creative Embossing.
I used this with three Distress Inks - scattered strawweathered woodgathered twigs. This time I pulled the ink pads down the length of the folder.

I decided to try the ink on both sides of the folder to get two different effects.

I added distress ink (scattered twigs) around the edges.

I then used these on a journal page, having first layered the page with a paper from Kaisercraft's Mix and Match 12 by 12 Paper pad, trimmed to size and distressed around the edges.

I then added the Oddball images, coloured with Copics and cut out.

The other day I shared a joke on Facebook - and every time I saw it, it made me giggle.
For some reason it was deleted...

This is my version:

Early last year I made a whole bunch of these backgrounds.
I used four distress inks and smeared them across a Stampin' Up tree embossing folder.

I found it best to just smear in one direction - horizontally across the folder. I then placed a square of white card in the folder and rolled it through the Big Shot.

I trimmed each background, distressed it around the edges with 'brushed corduroy' and added it to a white card base, layered it on a square of paper from my stash.

I made a series of 'Owl' cards with these, and this is today's:

 from Oddball Art Co .
The bee is  from Leigh's Busy Bees Collage and Sentiment Set
Both were coloured with Copics and cut out.
I then added the sentiments - printed on the computer and with added edges.

Once again my technique has produced two versions.
I cut out three snowflakes and placed them on some white card, sprinkled with an Aquamarine Brusho, spritzed with water and then left this to dry.

Recipe:
  1. White square card blanks.
  2. On the left card I just cut out the background, added a pink Distress Ink around the edges and then die cut let it snow from a scrap.
  3. On the right card I used a square of designer paper, added a pink Distress Ink around the edges, then the snowflakes and then die cut let it snow from a scrap.

Both snowflake and designer paper were freebies from Scribbles Designs

I hope you will join the

Well only a few days left in this hop - and it's really kept me busy, creating, crafting and blogging - so thank you Leigh!

As you know I have been playing with cartonnage over the last couple of weeks - and this is my final make with the bee fabric. I only have a small scrap left now and that has gone into my fabric stash for something, some time...

You might have noticed the start on my Wednesday desk:

I was making a Kindle cover:

This picture shows the elastic going round the back:
