It's amazing how quickly Wednesday comes around!!
Once again I am showing you my desks,
linking this post to the Stamping Ground.
Here's my desk picture for WOYWW 590!
I loved reading all your comments last week - so many of you liked my pelican video - and I loved the link that Karen gave me of the brown pelicans.
Carol asked if I stand up to craft - and I do at this desk as it is worksurface height.
At the following table I sit...
Many of you said I was pretty tidy - but as I mentioned to Julia, I wouldn't dare show my other three surfaces or the floor at that time. Or my drying surface in the hall - mind you as I look just now it's pretty tidy just two journals drying!
Angela mentioned the pelican rhyme her Dad used to say - my Dad used to say it too!! and it reminded me of this card I made earlier in the year:
Anyway - what can you see on my desks?
In the first picture - my acrylic neons - I had just been adding some neon paint to some ATCs.
You might just be able to spot some Distress and Distress Oxide pads underneath.
I have been playing with Crackling Campfire and Speckled Egg.
This is Distress Oxide and then Distress Crackling Campfire through a Tim Holtz stencil.
On my second work surface you can see my Cricut Maker - and a copy of Pride and Prejudice - I was making the card behind it (blogged here) and wanted to check on the quote.
This is a favourite book - my Aunty Hilary gave it to me for my Birthday in 1965
when I was 13.
Love the journal background. I'd love to take a class with TH - he is quite inspirational. Thank goodness for YouTube, especially now!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!

Hi Susan. What a lovely lot of neat space you have - brilliant to be able to have room to spread!! Most important for us crafters...I really like the snowflake page - do you know what else you will do with the page?
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Your pelican card is so much fun - the way it folds out to reveal the rhyme! The Crackling Campfire is a lovely colour and perfect for autumn - although your autumn is spring - I always find it difficult to put my head around that! Happy WOYWW! xx zsuzsa #20
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, I too took that TH workshop when he came to the UK! How strange, we were both at the same workshop. I recognised the blue lockers- same as in my pic, and just behind your left shoulder is my lovely friend, Debbie( Tattered Rocks) who I went with. I'm not sat there, so must have gone for a loo break! lol
ReplyDelete. Love the journal pages, they look great. I've just bought Crackling Campfire, am yet to get Speckled Egg. Stay safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #4 X
Such a clever card Susan, i'd confuse myself if I was to make one, i'll just sit and enjoy yours hee hee.. You've used my favourite Tim Holtz Stencil although the new Ironworks is becoming a close second, love the crackling campfire D'ox Tim was spot on with that colour this season. I'd love to meet the man himself but i'd probably just hide in the corner star struck.. Happy Woyww Tracey #5 x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely space you have - I hadn't appreciated how much space you have. I love your journal page so far. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love and God Bless, Caro xxx (#11)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely neat space you have, and I love the idea of a drying area - such a good idea. The leafy panel is looking gorgeous - I so love autumn colours. Must have been a great experience meeting Tim you lucky gal!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
Diana xx #22
Wow! You got to meet and craft with Tim?! that's awesome. I'm glad the link worked for the pelican video. I love your backgrounds especially the leaves as I love the Fall. Enjoy your week ~ Love, Karen #28
ReplyDeleteI stand up to cut out. Having discovered that if I try to cut fabric when I'm sitting down, it goes all wonky! So I think your high work station is a great idea! Love the autumnal piece but my fav is that grey and white, so elegant.

I wish I could keep my craft room (living room!) tidy... good job no-one ever (hardly ever) calls round.... I still kneel on the floor to craft but my knees are starting to tell me enough is enough! Helen #3
ReplyDeleteLovely journal pages and I so wish I could keep my crafting area tidy, I often use the floor for using punches or cutting large sheets. Angela #23. By the way , how narrow was the masking tape you used?
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are to have met TH he is so inspiring. Bet that was a great day. The Pelican card is perfect, love it, I had forgotten mentioning it last week such lovely memories of my dad. He was always coming up with something funny. Wishing you a happy and creative woyww, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteThat pelican card is brilliant, thanks for sharing the video.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW; stsy safe

I am loving the new Distress colours too Susan and have full collections of both. Lucky you to have met Sir Tim, he is an icon of craft all right. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, me again. I got my ticket the same way. Me & Hubby were actually on a plane waiting to take off for a holiday when the sales opened . My lovely pal Debbie was sat at her pc, and got us both a ticket. I just had time to send her a message, as I knew she'd be going, to try and book for me too, before we had to turn our phones off! Hugs, Shaz X
ReplyDeleteI’m an Austin fan, so P&P is on my list too, although it’s a close thing with a Emma, to be honest! Love the leafy stencilling with the Crackling Campfire, it’s a wonderful name for the colour isn’t it! Fab photos of TH and you, bet that was fun. I like the idea of a ‘drying area’ and will attempt to claim some moe space. If he asks, I’ll tell him you said it was ok!!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWDW Love your grey and white page its really is striking, I would love to meet Tim Holtz he seems just a lovely talented man,
ReplyDeleteLilian B #10
Oooh that wintery spread is so pretty! I have a cricut machine too, it's new to me but I love it already.
ReplyDeleteEllie #30
I see you were at Dyan's for the TH workshop- I missed that one but have taken several with the man himself mainly when I visited CHA and managed to get in them. I knew how they would be oversubscribed so I just left a space for someone else - maybe you had my spot!
ReplyDeleteHope you do try the strippy scrappy technique and enjoy it but don't get as hung up on it as I have.
Hugs, Neet 7 xx
I loved your pelican card with the fun poem!! I love how it folds out like that. My dad was another one who always quoted that poem - we always thought it was a Hilaire Belloc one but I looked it up and found it wasn't. Dad used to know quite a few of the Belloc ones by heart and my sister read a couple out at his funeral. Once I get back to papercrafting again, I am going to have to get some of the speckled egg stuff - I love the subtle grey. What you've done with it is just gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words on my blog. It's fun reminiscing about the early days with my hubby. I've been making further progress on Tiny Carpet #4 and am now mapping out the central design which involves a fair amount of thread counting, but once it's done, it will be a doddle to fill it in.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #12
Susan, first off, I love your blog background!! It's making me giddy for fall!!! LOL Second, I love what you are working on! I have been seeing that Crackling Campfire everywhere and I sure do want to get some of that goodness! And.....I am COMPLETELY jealous that you got be in the same room with the great Tim Holtz!!! How fun was that????? Anything Tim Holtz is amazing and I love that stencil!! Your journal page like wise is starting out yummy for sure!!! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!!! Have an awesome weekend! :) Felicia #25
ReplyDeleteI’ve never read Pride and Prejudice which is surprising. I’m not sure why not. I hear so many people say it’s their favorite. I’ll have to grab it one day. Love your photos this week. Have a great weekend. SOrry for the late visit. Dorlene #31
ReplyDeleteI love to see your desk and how fortunate you are, having a desk to stand on ánd to sit - I wish I had room for both as I like to change positions. Love the pelican card too! Thanks for visiting my blog the other day, have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe. Love from the Netherlands. Marit #1
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! I LOVE the new campfire Oxide, and through the stencil it is amazing! I will now have to get it...Your journal page also looks lovely, reminds me of a wintery day. Thanks for your kind words about the wedding, it was definitely a project of love! And I really think that 20 people at the wedding was far nicer than it would have been with 120! The rest of the 100 got to watch it on Zoom, so it's all good! Have a great week and stay safe! Lindart #32
