I have rather gone off-piste with this card - but I started thinking about
Hit the Books - and went on to my favourite book...
I also went lilac - I was sure lilac was in the colour scheme!!

My Aunty Hilary (and godmother) gave me this for my Birthday in 1965 - I was 13!

Anyway I printed the image, The book from the Story Time Bundle, coloured it with Copics and then cut it out.
I then overstamped it in lilac Archival with some of my real rubber Pride and Prejudice stamps, using post-it notes to mask areas where I didn't want the stamps to mark.

This was to be the main motif in my card, which was a white card base layered up with lilac card, then papers which were magazine freebies.
I printed the quote on the computer and cut it into a banner, adding some faux stitching with a  fine liner.

The quote is from when Lady Catherine de Bourgh takes a turn around the "prettyish kind of a little wilderness" with Elizabeth, when she calls unexpectedly.

I added the stamps of Elizabeth and Darcy on the bottom right too.

For this card I was following the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches #572 so I will add this card there.

Hope you will come and join us at Clever Dexter!!

Happy Crafting!

  4. What a lovely card celebrating one of the best Jane Austen books! Love the banner with the quote (wasn't it brilliant how sassy Elizabeth was to Lady Catherine!) and the way you used your rubber stamps with the digi is brilliant! Vicky x
