What's on your Workdesk Wednesday? #641 /Blog Along With Effy Post 15

This is the trailer we moved with, 6 years ago...

 WOYWW

Wednesday again, so I am linking to the Stamping Ground

Follow the link to find out more and maybe join in... This is my post for WOYWW #641

Once again Effy is doing a month-long Blog Challenge on Facebook.
This will be my fifteenth share there too...

This was my desk shot this morning:

On the left of my journal is the page I mentioned on Monday. I used various techniques involving tissue - using texture paste through a stencil on tissue for the body, stamping on tissue for the wings (Tracy Scott stamps) and face (Dina Wakley stamp). The eye is a Michelle Grant image printed on tissue. I used inks, water colour paint and fluoro on the wings.

On the right hand page of my journal is a page inspired Niamh Baly - she did two 'lives' during the virtual retreat at the weekend.
The image is by Tammy Klingner available from Michelle Grant Designs. I painted this with fluoro paints and cut it out.
The sentiment is from Tanya Froud also available from Michelle Grant Designs

I have also been playing with watercolour in another journal. This is from a photo taken out of the window in a hotel in Florence in 2013.

Finally another length of fibre class tape arrived for Kevin's boat renovations - so I was back to being bosun's mate this afternoon. While he was waiting for his package - the post has been really delayed - he had to work on a second boat...

I was so lucky to receive my retreat parcel in time for the weekend - many of the participants didn't! It would have made all the challenges more difficult. I have received quite a few packages while Kevin was waiting for his - every time one came he was pretty disappointed when it was for me! One of the things that arrived for me was this:

It is so good to use with small dies!

Today's Facebook memory - it is my brother's Birthday today - 8 years ago he came with us to Alton Towers on a Birthday trip! We were me, daughter Sophie and grandson Aiden who was visiting from Australia. Because it was a 'schoolday' none of Andrew's family could come with us! Aiden won that huge dog! We had to take all the polystyrene beads out of it so he could pack it. This was at Sophie's house - she reckons there would still be some of those beads there now...

Hope you are all well - stay safe...

Happy WOYWW !!

  2. I like both sets of painting, the bright Fluro colours and especially the view of Florence. That is something I’m wanting to have a go at next as I do love paintings of buildings of all sorts. Hope you were rewarded with extra rations of rum for being a top Bosun’s Mate!

  3. Love the texture on that first page Susan. Glad all your kit arrived in time to join in properly too. Look forward to seeing how the boat progresses now that the fibre glass has finally arirved. Alton Towers is relatively local for us but I haven't been since our end of year school trip in 2019. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #8

  7. Loving your journal pages. I can imagine if you've had deliveries that Kevin would be getting fed up waiting for his parcel when you kept getting more. I've never seen the Diecut and Bond before, looks interesting. I hope your week is full of crafty fun and happy woyww, Angela x5x

  14. Love your pages - the stamps remind me a bit of Lynne Peralla (?) ones for Acey Deucey long ago, but I think she designs for...Paper Artsy maybe? Not sure. No matter, yours are fab and I will have to have a look. I love me a nice quirky figure stamp and I have used my Teesha Moore ones to death. I need something new to play with... :D

    Happy WOYWW, so very late!
