November Challenge at Dragons Lair Designs Fan Group

there is a challenge to use one of Janette Padley's lovely designs...given as a freebie!!

This month it was:

I decided to use a Kraft stepper card on its side so that I could use both of the frame images...

First I cut the first image out and matted and layered it onto two pieces of DP from my stash
on the 'middle' section of the card base.

I then did the same with the other frame on the folded front section.

Finally I added some embellishments...

Hope you will join in with us next month...

LOC Challenge #56

A new Challenge starts at LOC today...

The theme is Spooky - but using a 'baby' theme...
So how do we marry the two??

I chose to use lovely 'A Day for Daisies' image featuring a baby surrounded by stars -
I changed the stars to spiders!!

Starting with a Kraft card base, I added a layer of orange polka dot paper,
from a My Mind's Eye paper pack 'Honey Cake'.
I embossed a spiders web (Stampin' Up embossing folder) and added Tim Holtz tea dye distressing ink to bring out the embossing and distress the edges. This became the top left corner.
I matted the image on some brown polka dot paper, coloured it with Promarkers
 and drew on the spiders.
Finally I added some black flowers...

Jars of Cheer

This month's progressive challenge at Imagine That!

is to use Jars Of Cheer

I have made just a simple card...

I took a 5 inch strip of 12 X 12  from Docrafts 12 Days of Christmas
and scored and folded it into a 'cracker'.

I used the precoloured 'Jar of Cheer' and 'Merry Christmas to..."

Finally I added some glitter foam letter stickers from American crafts.

I will link this to Imagine That!

New Challenge at Blue Moon Crafting - Winter Holiday/Snow

Well...a new challenge has started at the Blue Moon Crafting Station

and it's an easy one -Winter Holiday/Snow - interpret this as you will...and add your creation!!

For me 'Winter Holiday' means Christmas...
and I made another teeny tiny card (just 4 inches by 3) made from a snowy white card base!

I chose various stamps from Spiced Sunshine Stamps
(from BMC-0030 Jolly Holly and BMC-0025 Owl For You)
I arranged them on my stamping press...

This means that a number of cards can be stamped quickly - always a good idea at this time of year!!

I coloured them with Stickles...

and Copics...

Oh - and I added some googly eyes...

I think this will be perfect for the little people I know!!

LOC Challenge #55

A new Challenge starts at LOC today...

I chose to use RSD's Tworki...coloured with Promarkers.

I cut him out with a nesting die and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink.
This is the top layer. I also added two other layers to my Kraft card base:
an embossed image of a compass, also with tea dye to bring out the embossing and distress the edges,
a 'topnote' shape cut from paper coloured with shaving foam and food colouring and distressed around the edges.

Inside...just simply

November 20th card sketch at S~N~S

Today you will find a new card sketch at Sketch~N~Scrap

This made me think "Christmas"
which is pretty good as I am still working on the ones I need to make!!

I matted a cream card base with a scrap of paper from Docrafts 12 Days of Christmas.
I then layered with cream card, red hand-made paper
(this was also punched for the bottom lacy edging)
cream card, a cream doiley and a wooden tree,
A little red ribbon was attached in between the layers.
The sentiment was embossed with sparkly embossing powder.

Do join in at Sketch~N~Scrap!!

LOC Challenge #54

Today is the start of a new challenge at LOC

I was fortunate enough to use The East Wind's Earthy Christmas Tree
and I made two similar cards - one polka dot and one more traditional colours.
At this time of year I begin to worry about how many Christmas cards I have made
 and how many I need...
so CAS is good!
Also thinking of the post I think flat and light!!
Here are my cards:

In this first one, a Kraft card base is matted and layered with papers from a
My Mind's Eye Paper pack - Honey Cake.
The image is coloured with Promarkers with added silver Stickles.
I printed Ho Ho Ho on the computer.

This time I started with a Christmas red card blank and Christmas green card to go with it.
The corner holly leaves are punched with a hobbycraft punch
with green card behind and red Stickles.
The image is coloured with Promarkers and gold Stickles.

.I think my favourite is the polka dot one and I will link this to:

Blue Moon Creation Friday Freebie

I don't know about you, but at this time of year I am forever on 'catch up' with my Christmas cards...
And as I make a lot...it's better if they are CAS!!

So what better that a Digi Digi Doodle image??

Remember the latest freebie over there has been the turkey?
I wonder what it will be next?

Well here's a sneaky peek...

and here's another part that I have added some Promarker and Stickles to...

And maybe some googly eyes??

Can you guess which image it is??

Take a look at Digi Digi Doodle -

I actually received this as one of the monthly Freebies from Blue Moon Crafting Station Club
but it should soon be available from DDD...

Anyway here's a bit more of the image...

and here's the next stage -

I matted a red card base with a BoBunny Christmas paper and then added the image,
complete with Promarker colouring, Stickles amd googly eyes...and then...

I decided it could take a little more so I added an embellishment from my stash!

Do take a look at the  Blue Moon Crafting Station Challenge blog here

I will link this card to

I really enjoyed 31DOH so I couldn't wait to be here again on the November Member Blog Hop!!

You should have arrived at me from Keren and last stop is Sarah
but if you have happened on me by chance do start from the beginning at Black Dragon!!

SO...we are ALMOST organised in our new home - my craft room is sort of sorted -
I just wish I knew where I have put everything!!

But I did find my BIG SHOT so you will notice I have used that on today's projects!
Just two fairly simple cards...

I started with the Smeared Ink image 'Emerging' courtesy of 31DOH and cut this out
with a nesting die.
I added colour to this by overlaying another die-cut shape from a transparent sheet with red swirls.
I adhered these to a square of DT from my scraps (distressed around the edges)
 using some bronze brads.

I added this to a square card blank with 3 gargoyle corners from Delicious Darkness
coloured with Promarkers.

I then added the bird - a Sizzix die cut.
Finally some black gems and a googly eye...

I reallised I had two excellent 'negative' die cuts from my bird...not a good photo!!

By taking a black card base, I added a coloured transparency over a scrap of green card, using brads,
I then layered the following using a scrap of handmade orange card from India and the birds...
plus a googly eye...

This fits this colour palette

Happy hopping!
