Leigh SB Fan Feature

I recently won a prize in one of  Leigh's Challenges

I chose one of the wonderful slimline kitties and made this simple card:

Find Leigh's post about it here

The image I used is Party Puss

My card is a blue slimline card blank matted with green then a designer paper from my scraps.

I coloured the image with markers and cut it out.

I placed the image on top of a journaling card also from my stash.

Leigh SBDesigns Guest Designer - March 2022

I recently took part in LeighSBDesigns Gothic Valentine's Hop and was delighted to be a winner!

These were my makes:

I was also top three in the February Challenge 'Let Love Bloom'

Find out more from Leigh over on her blog - she has March Challenges to join in with...

Leigh also asked me to be a Guest Designer so I used one of my all time favourite images to make a journal page in my grey paged Strathmore 21 by 28 cm journal...

The image is Carved Skelly Cat which I printed on pale orange tissue.
I tore it out (helped by painting around it with a wet paintbrush) and used gel medium to stick it down. I also added some pieces of book paper.

To the background I added acrylics in blue/greens and then white, black and grey through stencils.

I stamped a script stamp (Finnebair Messy) in black archival and a circle stamp Crafter's Companion Splats and Stains) in white paint.

I painted the cat in Gelatos and water to make a watercolour effect, adding Stabilo All around the outside. I painted the border of the page in black acrylic and then added the sentiment in black and white Poscas.

There are no ordinary cats. Colette.

Guest Designer For Leigh SB Designs #2

I recently won an image set from Leigh of LeighSB Designs
and she asked me if I would like to do a Guest Designer Spot with it...

Of course I said yes!

The set was the Little Miss Oddleigh Dreaming of Sleep
This was particularly appropriate as sleep does not come easily at the moment!

I made a card:

I started with a cream 5 by 7 inch card base and added layers of yellow and blue card.
I combined the image in Serif Craft Artist 2 with the speech bubble and two papers:
Pink Starfish paper from Imagine That Digistamps
Blue starry paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.
I cut this out and layered it on yellow card.
I printed the image again, coloured it with Promarkers, cut it out and stuck it over the original - this gave it just a little more dimension.
I added this in the top right corner and put strips of washi around the two edges.
Finally I added the die cut kitties - Penny Black FeLine - using sparkly foam, and then the button.

Find out more from Leigh over on her blog - she has a Half Way to Halloween hop coming up soon!!

I will also add this to Ike's SUYP Challenge #30

Guest Designer for LeighSB Designs #3

I recently won an image set from Leigh of LeighSB Designs
and she asked me if I would like to do a Guest Designer Spot with it...
Of course I said yes!

The set was the Oddleigh Leprechaun Set

My final make is an ATC box.

I started with a Graphic 45 book box (ATC sized) and decorated this with a selection of acrylic paints, using wax resist, crackle medium and antiquing cream.

I attached a ribbon to tie the box closed and an ATC on the front.

The ATC started with a rectangle of green card matted by a DP from
Imagine That Digistamps Luck o'the Irish papers.

The heart banner is also one of Leigh's images - I printed it with a green filter and cut it out to add to the ATC. The leprechaun and sentiment were coloured with markers. I cut the leprechaun out and punched the sentiment out with a one inch punch. I added 'mowed lawn' distress ink to the sentiment.
