Color Dare Challenge #603

This picture shows my make for the

Do pop over to the Color Dare Challenge and take a look at my teamies' makes.

This picture shows the challenge -

I started with a white card blank and added a mat cut from a page from Bee Arty's Botanicals. The sentiment, mat and fussy cut flowers come from the same paper pack. I used black soot Distress  ink around the edges. This paper pack uses the three colours in the challenge.

Hope you will join the Color Dare Challenge...

The above is my Any Occasion project...for Challenge #469 at Addicted to Stamps and More

My card is basically a white card blank matted with a paper from BeeArty Full Circle designed by Michelle Grant Designs.
The image is the freebie from the Gecko Galz Fantasy Challenge
The sentiment is from Imagine That Digistamps (no longer trading).

WOYWW #782

It is Wednesday so I am linking to the Stamping Ground but not at the usual site. After 15 years Julia has decided to bow out - thanks so much to you for all you have done! The end of an era!

We are so fortunate that Sarah has taken up the baton...

Follow the link to find out more about What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday and maybe join in... This is my post for WOYWW #782 and the second headed by Sarah...

To celebrate the past 15 years l made a handful of ATCs and this is a picture - hopefully they will arrive with some of you soon!

This is the first one I have received - from Lynne - thank you!

So here's my desk:

On my desk today is a box I am upcycling. So far it has some layers of paint. On the desk easel is a recent journal page and a set of swapped ATCs that I have just received - mine is top left.

This week I made some more of those shell jelly fish and put them in charity shop jars.

This is like those I put together with origami cranes. I hope they will be of interest on our stall...

On the way back from Matty's the other day we called in at Gippsland Art Gallery in Sale. It was featuring an exhibition by Annemieke Mein who makes amazing embroideries!

This was one of my favourite exhibits:

That's all for today - hope to call on you all soon...

Happy  WOYWW!

Last Minute Gecko Galz May Challenges

This is my make for the Gecko Galz

with a freebie image.

This is a page in one of my junk journals. I was recently reminded of slider elements.
This is how my page looks including two sentiments from Spooky Sentiments.
The papers are from my stash (Tim Holtz).

If you pull the tab a journaling page appears at the bottom and the freebie image at the top.

I was then reminded of the quarterly challenge - I have had this lamp on my desk for weeks (I picked it up from a charity shop). Finally I have decorated it with images from Pixie Dust. The light in this case comes from a candle - I tried it with both a real one and an electric one and a bundle of lights but the pictures came out brightest with this candle.

Butterfly Challenge #196 #2

The theme for Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge #196 is F for Foil Card.

She explains the technique HERE

The wheel in the Butterfly Challenge is as follows with the colour scheme below

To play for the second prize you will need to use
2 colours from the palette shown above
A card using Foil
Flowers plus Frames on your card
Your Butterflies

This is my second attempt at this... and is pretty similar to my first card, but I wanted to try the alcohol inks.

I chose to use Forest Green and Flaxen.

It is pretty difficult to photograph these cards with the foil on them.

Having read Alice's comment, I used the foil lid to a food container and ran it through my Big Shot in an embossing folder.
I then dripped alcohol inks on this and blew it out with a blower.

I trimmed this and added it to my white card blank leaving a small white frame around the foil.

I die cut three circular frames and placed them on the card. I then arranged flowers and leaves on these - images printed on a patterned paper and then cut out.
Finally I added my butterflies - using stamps from a magazine I stamped the images with Versafine and used clear embossing powder to emboss them. I then fussy cut them.

This is aimed at the 2nd prize Challenge.
