Just For Fun - New 'Anything Goes' Challenge - July!!

Just For Fun
It's July - and the start of another challenge at Just For Fun - and it's easy
"Anything Goes"!

I decided to make one of my elephant series - if you follow my blog you will know that my cards used to feature a lot of camels (I was living in Abu Dhabi); now it's elephants as I am living in India!!

I picked up this stencil in the local 'Lucky Stores'
and used Sapphire Blue Glitter Frosting Paste (from GlitzCraft) to form the image
on blue cardstock. I matted and layered this on to a white card blank with a darker blue cardstock.

I then started looking at a few embellishments - flowers and bow, no, but yes to the googly eye...
In my stash, I found various sequins, lace and pretty things - this is how it ended up!
I added the corners stamped in bronze.

Hope you will join us at Just For Fun!

New Challenge at Just For Fun Challenge Blog!

The new Challenge just started at Just For Fun is
Here Comes Summer!!

Hope you will join us!

'Here comes Summer' to me means flowers and butterflies...

I decided to try and get back into 'my own style'.
If you have followed my blog for a while you will know that the butterflies on this card are the ones that I have made into a sort of trademark.
They are made of three butterflies die cut from SU's Beautiful Wings
 and tied together with twine.

The Poppy image is one from Indigo Blu - another favourite.
I stamped this with coffee archival ink on a parchment vellum.

I started with a brown square card blank and first added this beautiful hand-made paper -
hand torn to a rough square.
(I discovered a super hand-made paper shop yesterday - Bombay Paperie!!)
I then added some strips of Washi before my poppy and butterflies...

Just For Fun Midway Reminder - Elephant #3

Well, here we are at the midway mark for the current challenge at Just for Fun...
and already there are some super entries!

Can't wait to see yours!!

The challenge is to use ribbon or lace or both...and I used both on my first DT.

This time it is a very simple card - I am just using a strip of self adhesive ribbon
along the bottom of my card blank.
(DCWV Old World Adhesive Ribbon)

This is one of my elephant series!!

The sentiment and candles are embossed using Versamark and red embossing powder.

The elephant is an up-cycled tag from Chimanlals -
an amazing hand made paper store here in Mumbai.

New Challenge at Just for Fun

The new challenge starts at Just For Fun today -

and it is to use lace or ribbon - I actually used both...

I am sure you will join us with a creation using these!

My first thought was to use the Penny Black stamp 'cat in a bra' - very lacy!
This was coloured and distressed around the edges.

I started with a mustard card blank,
matted with a strip of pink that had been 'lace edged' using a punch.
I then added some real lace to the top of this.
I added the image using dimensionals.

Finally I added the ribbon - I recently saw a way to tie a bow using a fork

on Facebook's Lovely Crochet so I decided to have a go:

When I started this card I had been looking at this sketch:

I made my card landscape rather than portrait as that fitted the image better - but otherwise it fits!
I am going to link my card to Seize the Sketch #19

Just For Fun Midway Post

Here is my Midway DT inspiration for the Just For Fun challenge (Easter)

I used the Bugaboo image (PolkaBunny), coloured with Promarkers and with extra fine glitter.

All the various matting and layering papers came from my scraps - I particularly like the spring-like sparkly one that was matted onto the square card base.

My starting point was this sketch and I will link the card to

I will also link it to CHNC Patterned Paper Challenge

Just For Fun - Midway Reminder

We are halfway through the current challenge at Just for Fun - and it's an easy one - Anything Goes!

I thought I would make a card using my lovely new stamp
'The Little Door' from Darkroom door in Australia.

First I matted a dusky pink card base with a background. This I had made using
'shaving foam and food colouring' through a stencil. (See how here)

I then stamped the stamp using Versafine onto a different dark pink card
and added a couple of flowers!

Hope you like the idea!
