Creative Warriors Inspiration Team - New Term #13

This is my next inspiration for the Creative Warriors Inspiration Team

with Michelle Grant Designs

You will see our inspirational creations on the Facebook Group

This time I have used a page in my Art by Marlene 'perfect size' journal and an image from

Silent

I recently asked Michelle's advice on paints for a different project and she suggested these Pebeo Cerne outliners and I thought I would try them out on the hair in this image. They give colour and texture:

Rub-ons are not usually something I use but just recently I have made several things using them:
Index cards with pockets based on this video

These led me to make these cards:

And then there were Jenny Curthoys postcards in HillBilly Scrappin's recent virtual retreat

I decided to use some of the same techniques on the image here, using watercolour paint, stencils, Distress Oxides, more stencils, rub-ons. The background is lots of smooshed Distress Oxides plus script stamps in black archival and white embossing.
This was a mop up page from doing Tracy Evans' workshop, also in the virtual retreat.

I then added the paint to the hair.

Songs and Rhymes Challenge November 10th

Have you found the new home of the Outlawz Sunday Song & Rhyme Challenge yet?

I do hope you will go and check it out!

This challenge has no sponsors, but you do have the opportunity to win a top 3 badge.

Now on to the challenge!

Our Song/Rhyme this fortnight is from Susan

The poem "From a Railway Carriage" is about the experience of the poet "R.L. Stevenson" during his train travel. He has written the poem very expressively that we also travel along with him, in his railway carriage. He says that the train travelled much faster than imaginary characters like fairies and witches.

This card comprises a white card blank matted with a  piece of holographic card.

The paper is from an Indigo Blu mixed media pack as are the stamps - embossed in black or stamped in black archival.

If you haven't already, please join our
to stay up with all the challenges.
Thanks for playing along!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2024 Fall/Winter #11

I love to enter the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I like to make 10 or 12 entries - not sure if I will make it this time!

This is my eleventh post in the

As I live in Victoria, Australia I am still trying to catch the last few minutes of the linky...

For this mixed media card I used a kraft blank matted with a paper I made myself.
This was first a Gelli pull followed by stamps from Kelly Stamps and Bee Arty Stamps in coffee Archival.
I then added the strip of hessian with the sentiment which was in my Kelly Stamps envelope...

At the beginning of the month I took out all my coffee stamps - and I have only used a few of them!
This card uses Crackerbox and Suzy stamps: just very simple - stamps on a mat from American Crafts Gingham Garden paper pad on a kraft card blank, and some penwork.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2024 Fall/Winter #7

I love to enter the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

This is my seventh post in the

First of all I have this ATC to share using brown card, BeeArty paper, a sentiment from my stash and a Cutplorations die.

I have used this on this card:

I made this after watching this video: Beautiful star easel
I used more of the Bee Arty papers to mat the various triangles.

This is the back view with a space for writing a message.

To put in an envelope the part that slides into the easel is placed separately. In the following picture I have put it the other way round to show I added an extra sentiment.

I love to enter the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

This is my sixth post in the

I came across a coffee themed paper in my stash which had the glossy black and white paper on one side and sentiments on the other. I used it along with a Bee Arty paper to make this simple card:
