Last minute Progressive Challenges

I have had these images on my worktable since the beginning of April...
finally I got them coloured up last night

(with Promarkers, in front of the telly!!)

The first one is from the Outlawz Progressive Challenge
and the image is brilliant - just right for my Mom's Birthday in a couple of days time...
The image is from

and is called For Mom

I used a white card base with blue card to mat and layer,
with a piece of delicious DP from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles
using nesting dies for the circular shapes.

The image is Time to Bloom

I have used the floral image (cut out with a nesting die) plus one of the sentiments,
on a white rectangular card base matted and layered with various papers from my stash.

This card is based on the From the Heart Sketch Challenge #149 sketch

I will link this card to both these challenges...

LOC Challenge #128

Today a new Challenge #128 starts at Left of Center
 'Mixed Media'.

Our sponsor is The Goblyn Workshop

The image I chose to use is Zelda the Zombie Fairy

This is  a fab image! - I coloured it up a while ago to make this fat page...

...and decided to use it again on another fat page for today's Mixed Media challenge...

First I coloured the image with Promarkers and glitter and then cut her out.
The 6 by 6 chipboard base was matted and layered with corrugated card and pink netting with silver glitter around the edge.
I then added a layer of embossed card (A Tim Holtz folder) highlighted with Inkagold in turquoise.
I then added the image and three sequined flowers (part of my stash from India.)

Looking forward to seeing your LOC /Mixed Media make!

New Challenge at Creative Fingers

A new Challenge starts today at Creative Fingers

The theme is as always Anything Goes....

This challenge we're being sponsored by

 Beccy's Place

I love this Party Pig image!

coloured it with Promarkers, added a bit of glitter and cut it out.

I then used a scallopped card base to make an easel card. I used scraps of pink card and pink decorated foam both behind the image and to make the stand.

Finally I added sparkly foam letters to say PARTY!!

Do go over and see the winners of the last Creative Fingers Challenge
and what the CF DT have made!!

Hope you will join the Creative Fingers Challenge!

Have you come across the Dragons Lair Designs Sunday Showcase?

Not only can you enter your Dragons Lair make to maybe win a prize,

you can also snag a freebie...

I will add today's tag to this week's linky...

But it is also a sneaky peek of a new collection due to be launched on May 1st at

Butterfly Garden - the picture gives you just an idea...

I love this collection!!

Once again I was fortunate enough to have a mini kit to play with
- and I'm giving you a sneaky peek!

And again - a tag to whet your appetite...

Both the butterfly circle and the sentiment come from the collection - I have die cut them both with nesting dies.

The sentiment is layered on some green card and a piece of baby oil and re-inker background and held in place with a brad and some ribbons.

(I will tell you more about this technique in the next few days...)

Do take a look at Dragons Lair Designs on May first for this new launch, the rest of my design, and all the other lovely makes!

And don't forget to look for the new Challenge on May 6th ...

Imagine That! Digis by Kris - Second GDT Inspiration

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer for
Imagine That Digis By Kris!
and this is my second inspiration post...

Once again I am using
 Beach Combers Mega Kit
and I have used various pre-coloured elements from
Beach Blanket Girl, Beach Journaling Cards and Elements, Beach combing papers and Beach Floaty Girl .

My idea was to use the journalling cards as two of the sliding cards in a double slider card:

These are the journalling cards back and front - I thought messages could be written on the fronts for the recipient:

The original card was made from strips of 5 inches wide cut from a white textured 12 by 12, scored and folded with tabs to form two pockets.
These were then matted with the various papers - and the images added.

Ribbon was used through punched holes to slide the journalling card up and down.

And I added flip flops to the ribbons...embellishments bought when I was living in India!

Hope you'll pop over to
to see more wonderful inspirations...

LOC Challenge #127

Today a new Challenge #127 starts at Left of Center
 'Tall Card Base'.

Our sponsor is Bugaboo

I chose to use Funky Flower Blocks thinking it would be good in a tall card and also good to colour. However when I saw my teamies' makes I decided to do something different and paper-piece it using white card then orange paper...

I started with a white card base, matting and layering it with black and orange. I added the Flower blocks and also Goofy Hween Cat - Spider printed on both orange and white with the orange cut out to stick on the white...I added a button and a tiny piece of ribbon and matted this on black. Final touches were more buttons and some sequins and a bit of doodling!

This week has definitely been a bit of a half way to Halloween week for me - these are three of my makes!!

As well as today's card I also decided to make an ATC tryptich in a very similar manner:

And here's a final picture of today's card...

Looking forward to seeing your LOC /Tall card make!

Happy Half'o'ween!

Amazing Race Art Journaling Challenge Leg 2

I decided to enter into the Amazing Race Art Journaling Challenge on Facebook

Leg Two is France!

I have been very tempted to join in the detours too but so far time has got away with me...

In fact when I see the fabulous creations of other racers
I wonder if I should really be joining in - I am really a beginner at journalling!

Anyway my Leg Two page started with a baby wipe blended page using three colours of Artsy paints:

It amused me to see that quote on the bottom of the newspaper...

It made me look into French realism...which was a bit of a detour!

My next step was to add scraps of paper to my pages - some with French script on them. I sponged another paint colour around the edges of these. Two triangles of acetate were the two final scraps...I then overstamped with various Tim Holtz 'French' stamps and two French phrases in Stazon. The postage stamps were stamped on a scrap of DP, cut out and glued in place.
