WOYWW #839

It is Wednesday so I am linking to WOYWW at Sarah's craft shed

Can you believe it's July???

Follow the link to find out more about What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday and maybe join in... This is my post for WOYWW #839.

My desk looks much as I left it two weeks ago. We flew back from Queensland on Sunday - I haven't done any crafting yet!
It took me quite a while to open all my happy mail - quite a few swaps had arrived - I had posted 11 envelopes at the beginning of our trip - cards and junk journal bits. The blue tassel you can see hanging from one of my junk journals is one of the swaps I received...

I did make another of those envelope pockets - one of the places we stayed in gave their information in an envelope so I decided to upcycle it...

My husband and I like to trawl through all the charity shops - we didn't find much to bring back with us as we were flying, but I did find this lovely sewing bag which proved quite useful as it contained all sorts of bits and bobs including lace.

Apparently it had belonged to an old lady whose daughter had just brought everything to the charity shop when she died...

These are the prompts for Week 5 of ICAD - I am working on catching up!!

All for now...
Happy WOYWW!

  1. We love a charity shop outing. What a lovely find with the sewing bag. I found a handstitched quilt once and even though I didn’t need it I bought it. The thought of all the hours and skill that had gone into it meant it had to come home with me. It’s across the bottom of the bed in the guest bedroom now

  2. Lovely find, but sad to think how our treasures will just be a burden once we're gone. :( I keep thinking now is the time to do a Swedish Death Cleanse but hard to let things go! Love your envelope pockets and that page at the top, with the bird is so stunning. I'm on track with ICADs and will be sad to see it end. It's my fave challenge of the year. Happy WOYWW

  3. How lovely to find that sewing bag in the charity shop, you’re keeping that lady’s legacy going by using it! It must be lovely to be back home after your road trip, I did enjoy coming along with you!

  5. I smiled at you saying about the bag of stuff you got from the charity shop as we took lots of my mum's stuff when we cleared the house after she died and although it was sad it made me happy to see how many people wanted to buy her things. Much better than binning them. Wishing you a very happy woyww with hugs Angela x9x

  6. I'm with an Angela too, much better that you rummage through and find nice stuff to give it a second chance, just love a good charity shop session! No doubt you'll have the I ADS caught up in no time, love the envelope reinvention!

  7. Love your houses. I bought some envelopes to have a go. Unfortunately I could only get white. Still covering them shouldn’t be a problem. Happy WOYWW. Angela #13
