Butterfly Challenge S is for Slide and Lock Style #2

The current theme for Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge #161 is S is for Slide and Lock
and she gives instructions on how to make one here

This is the wheel - I have used all elements and Version 11.

This is my card - I typed the quote on some vintage book-paper with my old typewriter.

This is the base of my card.

This is the slider part:

Blog Along With Effy Post 25

Once again Effy is doing a month-long Blog Challenge on FacebookI thought I would share some more 'diary' posts, along with some of the crafty things I have been doing.

One of the things I miss from England is our allotment - and the many pumpkins we used to grow. The first picture must be about 5 years ago. Lots of pumpkins to distribute around the family ready for Halloween. Now that we are in Australia (and in a rental) we only have a small veggie plot, but Kevin still gets some produce! At the moment though it just has some seedlings coming up...

Today was another not  beautiful day - although the sun was shining it was pretty cold. I spent much of the time in my craft room listening to an audio book and making a couple of cards for design teams. They will be on my blog at some stage...

Apart from that I carried on with Wanderlust #39 with Kate Crane. I got as far as my doors...

Maybe I will get a bit further tomorrow...

That's all I have for today - as the Grand Final is on the television...

Using more images I then cut out the penguin piece and added it on dimensional tape. I cut out the j piece and added it so that it was on a double layer of dimensional tape.

Blog Along With Effy Post 24

Once again Effy is doing a month-long Blog Challenge on FacebookI thought I would share some more 'diary' posts, along with some of the crafty things I have been doing.

My first picture today is from 4 years ago - I was spending a weekend in Harrogate with some good friends, taking in all the sites including Betty's - and then enjoying a Tim Holtz workshop!!

Today was not a beautiful day - so I helped Kevin with a bit of fibre glassing, nipped to the shops and not a lot else! In fact by the time the afternoon came  it was pouring with rain and blowing a gale. So I wrote a few letters and then took them to the post box.

I have been taking part in a UK ATC swap every month since 2011. This month would be number 113 and the theme was Olympics. I made my set and posted them off - although the subject was not particularly inspiring. These are what I made:

They arrived - and this was the photograph that was taken of them - but somehow they then disappeared! So today I have made another set and posted them off. Now fingers crossed they will arrive fairly quickly!

Apart from that I have made a start on Wanderlust #39 with Kate Crane. I have made a start but I don't have anything to show yet.

On Tuesday Carolyn Dube gave a new 'Playstarterprompt'. Last week it was ALERT and I did this quick little journal page.

I think I shared this one day - this week the prompt is INNOCENT - so I again used my small kraft journal and did this:

Innocent made me think of children so that gave me the idea of making the bubble page. I used paint off my Gelli plate straight onto the journal for the background. The image is a Bee Crafty stamp inspired by Banksy. I then added the white paint through a stencil. While I had my paints out I used my thumb and forefinger to make the robins. This was to make a page that a child might produce.  My great nephew showed me how to do these. Today I added more. The childish looking houses were painted with shimmery water colours (images that I had printed out from Michelle Grant Designs, when I was doing the journal page yesterday.) The background was more white paint through a stencil and I used my finger again to make the balloons.

Blog Along With Effy Post 23

Once again Effy is doing a month-long Blog Challenge on Facebook.

My first picture today is the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne. Unfortunately we cannot visit it at the moment as it is more than 10 k away - but it is still open despite the Covid restrictions - for essential produce. About 5 years ago we were visiting Australia from the UK - and I bought a jumper in the market. We returned to the Uk and I wore it to go in a local Interiors shop. I blended into the decor!!

Today was a beautiful day - so once again we met our daughter for a picnic...

Kevin was just about to eat a boiled egg, forgetting that he had a mask on!

It was warm enough for a paddle...

As regards crafting - I finished two journal pages.
The first one involved some images from Michelle Grant Designs. I used shimmery water colour paint to add colour and the background is a Gelli plate pull.

The second one also uses a Gelli pull background. The sentiment is one of my favourite quotations and the image is the freebie from the Gecko Galz Monthly challenge.
