The Frog by Hilaire Belloc

This is my make for the DT team of Outlawz

Sunday - Songs and Rhymes

For the month of May our sponsor is: Sherry West Art with a prize of 2 images!

Find inspiration in the song or rhyme:

The Frog

Be kind and tender to the Frog,
And do not call him names,
As ‘Slimy skin,’ or ‘Polly-wog,’
   Or likewise ‘Ugly James,’
Or ‘Gape-a-grin,’ or ‘Toad-gone-wrong,’
   Or ‘Billy Bandy-knees’:
The Frog is justly sensitive
   To epithets like these.
No animal will more repay
   A treatment kind and fair;
At least so lonely people say
Who keep a frog (and, by the way,
They are extremely rare).

Note:  The theme doesn’t have to be taken literally.  You may use any word or phrase out of it for your project.

Once again I have made one of those pop-up aperture cards.

This is white square card blank from which I cut an aperture using a Nellie's Choice die from a Nellie's Multi frame Set.
The image is placed behind this inside the card and as you can see just part of it is showing.

I covered the front with blue card, then a Stampin Up paper from the Dandy Wishes collection
before die cutting the aperture.
My sentiment was going to be Hoppy Birthday - but I couldn't find the stamp - and decided to use Sorry I frogot instead - of course I found it immediately afterwards! The stamps are from the Stampin Up set Unfrogettable. Guess what I have been singing all day??

The image inside was placed on a scored and folded blue card platform so that as you open the card it moves a little.

I coloured the image with markers and put her on a layer of blue card.

You will find this on the Outlawz  Sunday Songs and Rhymes Challenge on May 2nd.

Happy Crafting!
