So continuing with my wooden whisky case...

You remember I covered top and sides with a paper from a Tim Holtz idea-ology paper stash, distressed round the edges with black soot.

Today I want to show you the images on the top. I printed these on a grunge/steampunk paper from Imagine That Digistamps and matted them on black card. I then used a variety of markers to add colour.

In my ATC tag book last year this was one of the ATCs I made:

The ATC uses Ike's Poe Death Bed, ripped out, and coloured with a variety of fineliners.

I layered it onto blue card and black card. I then added ribbon, beads and a bow.

I am using this same image for one of the 3 elements on the top of the box.

On the right of this I have an ATC using a sentiment from Vera Lane Edgar Allan Poe

And to the left - of course - Leigh's Oddleigh Edgar Allan Poe

Here's the box so far...

I added a heart embellishment which just seemed to be destined for this box...

Each day I am hoping to share 'something Poe' I have made in the past ...

So first, last year's make was an ATC 'Tag Book" - each sleeve decorated and containing a pullout ATC.

I remember using images from Lost Coast, IkesArt and stamps from Smeared Ink.

So now onto today's makes...

My husband and I love the auctions - especially when the lot is a job lot of surprises!
We have come away with all sorts of goodies for very modest outlay...

Recently we found in a box of assorted kitchen wares a couple of wooden whisky cases (empty of course!)

Lovely boxes - in the eyes of a crafter! 

And I discovered they were just the right size for ATC storage!

Anyway, first I covered top and sides with a paper from a Tim Holtz idea-ology paper stash, distressed round the edges with black soot.

I then started decorating this with images printed on a grunge/steampunk paper from

 Imagine That Digistamps and matted on black card.

The raven and sentiments are from Vera Lane Edgar Allan Poe

The next set are stamped with archival ink using Smeared Ink stamps (sadly a company who no longer trade)

I attached these to the sides of my box...

I have kept adding to this calendar month by month - so here is January 2018:

On the flip over card section I have white card followed by a gelli plate pull.
I then added two images printed on white and coloured with a variety of markers.

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #369

a new Christmas Challenge every Saturday!

Crafty Hazelnut has introduced a Design Team to her weekly Christmas Challenge

and I am very pleased to join that team...

The theme for Challenge #369 is Use a Sentiment

I have used none - Christmas colours for this card to emphasis the sentiment - which is a Kaisercraft one, stamped in Versafine. The other stamp is from Stampin Up's Come to Bethlehem stamped mainly in the black - but the star is embossed in gold using Versamark, gold embossing powder and my heat gun.
Having trimmed the two elements I layered them on pink and purple card on a white card blank.
