WOYWW #577

WOYWW

I discovered "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday" last week, courtesy of Angela - I had noticed WOYWW on her posts before but this was the first time I investigated and participated!!

I was delighted with all the lovely comments other players left me when they hopped by - and I was inspired by the things they were making...

SO here I am again...and I will link this post to the Stamping Ground

To the left of my pens you might spot a new ATC and some paints that just arrived - can't wait to try those!

The ATC features the Hippie van image that I have been using recently. I had coloured it with Copics and then because we found a laminator in a charity shop yesterday I decided to use it as a practice laminating. So it is laminated, then cut out with Tonic ATC dies, orange card on the back and a scattering of small embellishments...

That van reminds me of when my sister and I hired some Wicked Campers to travel around a little of Australia, 11 years ago?

There are also some more new things on the left hand side of my desk - waiting to be used... the envelope contains a prize from Gerda Steiner

We have now been in this house about a month - and I am trying to organise my new craft room. Hence the pen tidies -  I made these from lengths of drainage pipe stuck together.  A friend mentioned a similar thing to me and this is my version.
Because I thought they needed some decoration I added some alcohol ink. The small pen pot was my trial...

The second organiser is my cartonnage box which I have just finished (you will see there is another project on the go on my mat!)

Once again it was thanks to the free Cartonnage class by Claudia Squio that I took part in a couple of weeks ago. Again I just used heavy cardboard that had been packing in a new bedding set - and the bee fabric that I spotted in Spotlight the other day.

I will link this to Leigh's

I think your storage boxes/pipes are fantastic and a great way to keep your kit tidy - I do like a bit of organisation, lol!

  5. Well, glad to see you enjoyed WOYWW! Also hugely impressed that you’ve only been in your new home a month and that your work room is actually functioning, go you! Brilliant idea for the pen store, and I love the drips of alcohol ink, doesn’t it look great. The new paints seem rather delicious, a sparkly metallic watercolour sounds a lovely addition!

  8. I am so glad you are joining in with WOYWW, the other members are really nice, though I have not met any of them. It has been going 11 years! This is my first year though. Love the storage idea, since I discovered pens should be flat It has not been as convenient to use them. Wonder where I can get drainage pipe from 🧐. Love your box and your ATC x

  12. Lovely to see you back again and I am loving the camper van stamp - we used to have an old VW van years ago and it was great fun. The pen holder is great - I thought you had purchased it rather than made it. I'm pretty impressed that you have a work space up and running after only moving a month ago - good for you!
Hope you have a good week,

  14. LOVE that Bee basket! I love things that are both pretty AND practical. Those drainage pipe holders are genius too. Oh you have brought back happy memories with those camper pics. We hired one in New Zealand 20 years ago now and it was our favourite part of the whole year long trip. *sigh... happy days! Have a great week, Lisa-Jane #14

  17. Did I spot an 'Art by Marlene' stamped image on your desk - they are such fun those images.
Love bees so your new container scores high with me, and it is so beautifully made too. Then I also like your tubes, love how you coloured them in. I save toilet roll inners and put them in a car food box to make storage. Lots of things I have are recycled from wine boxes to cat food boxes to loo rolls. Good fun.
Glad you are with us again - stick around you will make lots of friends.
    Hugs, Neet 8 xx

  19. Hi Susan, sorry for the late visit. Glad to hear you are settling in your new home, and sorting your craft room. I love the bee carton box. Very colourful and cheery, although at the moment bees and I are not best friends as there is a warm of them outside my craft room window, which makes me reluctant to open it! How fab exploring Australia in those camper Van's! Great ATC project - another use for my laminator! Have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #4

  24. It's lovely to have you as a member of our group, Susan. I wasn't here from the beginning but joined a good few years ago now. I kept seeing "WOYWW" on people's blogs and wondered what on earth it was all about, and eventually I investigated and thought it looked rather fun! I think it must be the longest running blog hop on the Internet. I love your gorgeous storage items - so pretty, and so practical! Most of my storage is really boring.

Thank you for your lovely comment! So glad you enjoyed reading my post this week. After putting all that work into the cardigan, I could hardly abandon it when the going got tough, but had to persevere! I'm really glad I did. I think it will probably be OK now.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
