ANYTHING GOES Family of Macabre Stampers MARCH Blog Hop

MARCH BLOG HOP

"Our first blog hop of 2016 will be anything goes using rubber stamps, remember we love the sort of things other groups won't accept, so please don't be afraid to explore your darker side :D"

Here's the list - I hope you will hop through to see everyone's makes...

SUSAN R - YOU ARE HERE!!
BLACKDRAGON

I have just come back from a weekend away on a crafty retreat with
 the UK Stampers Network.
Find out more about their retreats here.

The Saturday workshop was journalling -
I thought I would share a couple of my double page spreads with you today...

The journal is an A5 book of cartridge paper, each pair of pages stuck together to make a sturdier base on which to work.
My first pages were coloured with three colours of
Paperartsy Fresco Finish Acrylic paint using a brayer.

Several hearts were die cut and layered together to give the thickness of a chipboard and then were given texture using texture paste and stencils.
More texture paste was layered onto a facial tissue through another stencil - a cobweb.

The hearts were painted black and then sanded a little.
Silver twine was added to one for a bit of bling.
When dry the texture paste on tissue was transferred and adhered to the book. Some colour was added to this with a sponge and one of the paints used at the beginning.

The final steps were to add black paint through a stencil to frame the pages, a scatter of hearts using a rubber stamp and Stazon and a sentiment.

Hearts and flowers? No Hearts and spider webs!!
I will link this to Dream In Darkness March Challenge
My second pair of pages was started with glueing torn scraps of pages to them.

I used two colours of the Fresco Finish paint to add a wash of colour over the papers.
Using coloured texture paste (by adding one drop of re-inker to some white texture paste), texture was added at random through a stencil.
The green effect was achieved by smearing re-inker across the paper, spritzing with water and allowed to run down the page. Some of the excess moisture was mopped up with kitchen roll.

Next I added some images in the background stamped with a rubber stamp and black Stazon. I used a couple more stamps, stamped on white card with black Stazon and a little colour with Promarkers. These were cut out and glued in place.
The butterflies were die cut and embossed and then coloured with Promarkers and doodled with fineliners.
Finally I added a sentiment. Originally this was in my handwriting - I covered it with a printed version - I may add some handwritinfg to the bottom right if I can summon up the nerve...
I love this painty torn edge just here...

Happy Crafting!
