Another post for Effy's Blog Along
I have seen lots of mention of ICAD...
I wondered what it meant - and then I saw Index Card A Day during June and July.
Serendipitously, when I went to Office Works, I picked up these. I always look in the bargain boxes. When I saw these, I thought I can use them. But at the till, the person there couldn't find them on the machine - so she couldn't sell them to me - so she gave them to me...
You may remember I used them for my poems a couple of weeks ago...
Anyway I was still not sure what to do - but I thought I could make a piece of artwork on a small card 5 by 3 inches - and at least try for every day in June and July.
June 1st - A Gelli plate background using white gesso and alcohol ink producing muted colours. Then two circles cut from a Gelli pull using acrylics and a stencil (Tracy Scott). The sentiment is a Tim Holtz chipboard.
June 2nd - A Gelli plate background using acrylics. I just looked to see if an image revealed itself and did a bit of doodling.
June 3rd - This was just a clean off pull after using a Tim Holtz stencil on the Gelli plate. Then doodling with paint pens.
June 4th - We went for a walk and we saw this painting on a fence:
This is my version on an index card:
I am very fond of pelicans - we see a lot out the back here.
The word is stamped using kids' foam letter stamps. I also made an ATC on a Gelli pull background.
June 5th - Another Gelli pull - just paint through a stencil and doodling. Another Tim Holtz chipboard.
June 6th - Acrylic paint daub. the word is a sticker.
The watercolour flowers are some I had left on my desk after Wanderlust 23 pages with Kate Crane.
June 7th - Testing Dylusions shimmer paint in bubble gum pink directly onto the index card.
Think I also got a smear or two of blue. create is a Tim Holtz die - I used black card and a Gelli Pull to cut the mat and word.
I also added a bit of faux stitching around the edges.
(This one tends to curl up...)
June 8th - This is just a little sketch with HB pencil after watching Ida Anderson Lang tutorials.
June 9th - I spotted a freebie digi from Twistoon Gnome Sun, printed it several times on a Gelli pull (a muted colours one using white Gesso and alcohol inks) and added colour with markers. I then added some penwork with a Micron pen and the word is a Stampin' Up stamp.
I also made a card and an ATC with this image:
Hoping that tomorrow will bring an easing of the lockdown restrictions...
Happy Crafting!
I always mean to do ICAD, and every time I get side tracked.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are great. Love the Pelican!!
That's really cool!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you are doing ICAD, love your mini artworks. The pelican is so cute. I also like Ida's style, I think I did that class, the girl looks familiar. Hope your restrictions are lifted tomorrow! Elle xx

ReplyDeleteI love your cards, I hope you see restrictions easing soon. We are waiting to see if we get wholesale lifting on 21st or not. I've joined ICAD this year for the first time. You've made me think i ought to blog about my cards so far too!
