Blog Along With Effy Post 18

Once again Effy is doing a month-long Blog Challenge on Facebook.

Yesterday there was an almighty crash - neither Kevin nor I knew what it was... After looking around we found that that picture (one of my collage and paint projects) had fallen from the wall shattering the glass. The frame had failed...

When we moved from the UK we brought all our pictures unframed - and then picked up new frames from charity shops, usually discarding whatever was already in them. So we need to wait until the shops open again to replace it. In the meantime I just put up a frame we had in hand - I quite like the pig!!

At Christmas my sister sent me the picture of Kevin, Dad and Pete sailing our Sonata. You may have read of this story before - I happened to see the painting in a gallery window while walking through Beaumaris in North Wales, some thirty-odd years ago. I realised it was 'our boat', bought the picture and gave it my Mum and Dad. It hung in my Dad's room for many years.  We framed it here but not before photographing it and making canvas copies for many of the family - including our kids.

Today's Facebook memory takes me back to when we left Mumbai (7 years ago) - another of our moves! that dresser was a wedding present and has travelled the world with us! Most recently it came with us back to Australia, with the matching bookcases. The Tupperware came but only a few books - and not the elephant crockery. This was originally bought in Abu Dhabi - but eventually went to charity in the UK. And of those camels on the left, only one or two survive!

Finally today, a bit of crafting. Over last weekend I started making an album out of 'manila folders'. This was based on instructions courtesy of Hillbilly Scrappin who organised the virtual retreat. One of the kits from the retreat contained some Graphic 45 papers in it and I decided to use that in here.

I know not everyone is keen on Halloween - but we always celebrate it as it's my sister's Birthday. And I always do 31 Days of Halloween during October. This album will be my major project for this. So - a little peek at two of the pages:

This one reveals to show a twist and pop up element:

The sentiment here is from Becky's Place - and opening it reveals a pop up...

See you tomorrow...
