Blog Along with Effy - September 2nd

This is my attempt at Wanderlust Class 35 - a sort of abstract floral painting.

Once again I am joining in with Effy's Blog Along. I thought I would share some more 'diary' posts, along with some of the crafty things that I have been doing. A year ago today we were in lockdown - we could only leave the house for certain reasons and had to wear masks when doing so. We could go for a walk...

And once again we are in lockdown with similar restrictions. We can only go 5k, can have neither visitors nor visit. I so wish we could go and meet our new grandson, born on August 1st. Once again we are missing Birthdays, for the second time around! But hopefully we will have the chance to celebrate all eventually!

So I am crafting - and listening to lots of audiobooks (free on my tablet from the local library!)
Fortunately there are many workshops online for inspiration - this was one courtesy of Kate Crane.

Again most of my posts on Facebook are just memories - three years ago today we were still in the UK and visiting the Framework Knitter Museum in Ruddington. I was intrigued by this knitting machine.

However I did post this a couple of days ago:

For some reason I had managed to cover myself in burnt umber. When I went in the shower the next morning I found I still had some all over my elbow!

More tomorrow...

Happy Crafting!

  1. I love this. I almost always have paint SOMEWHERE, often on my elbow but sometimes on the backside heel of my hand. I DO wash them... but it just never seems to come off. Keep creating, keep blogging and this lockdown shall pass... I hope you can see your new grandson soon.

  2. I too almost always have paint somewhere on me!
We are coming out of all restrictions here in the UK however my family are still acting mostly as if we are restricted. Hubby and I feel safe at home so why risk it. But we do recognise that we need to start living again! Keep on the art trail, it's what keeps us going.

  3. haha I just found paint on my pyjamas the other day and was trying to think how it could possibly have got there, so I will join you with that quote. I like your abstract floral, I haven't done that one yet as I'm a bit behind with a lot of things due to health. Happy Blog-along! Elle/EOTC xx

  4. I'm glad you are here blogging again with us Susan. I don't have paint on me but I have soup makings. LOL Let's hope we all are able to get out safely soon.

  5. It's so awesome that the audio books from the local library are free! We have a tree stump bookcase in our park, where we can get free books, and donate books, but when it's cold like today, I don't want to approach the place. Not seeing your grandchild must be very hard, I hope that you will be able to soon.
