I have just come back from a few days away - and as usual when I go on holiday I take a few crafty items for when we are in the hotel bedrooms in the evening.

This time I took some Gecko Galz images with which to add a few pages to my Alice Junk Journal:

I printed out lots of Poe images so that I could join in a Poe Hop to celebrate Edgar Allan Poe's Birthday and also the freebie images in the Challenges mentioned below.  This morning I joined in a UK Stampers Network Zoom Craft and Chat. The workshop was to make folders in a variety of sizes to hold different cards. I made one to hold my Winter Wolf ATCs from the

I then adapted the idea to make a more boxy folder to hold all the POE ATCs I made while on holiday.

You might notice the ATC on the left at the back features the image from the
MONTHLY Gothic Challenge

I also used this image on a junk journal page...

I used the reverse sides of these corrugated card pages for the

Sophie and I had a lovely time while we were away, seeing wonderful scenery

and caves:

We went on a rib to see seals

Yesterday, on the way back, we visited Sovereign Hill at Ballarat where we found out much about the Gold Rush.
We also dipped candles!

Happy WOYWW!

Creative Warriors Inspiration Team - Term 2 Post #12

This is my next inspiration for the Creative Warriors Inspiration Team 2022 - Term 2!

with Michelle Grant Designs

You will see our inspirational creations on the Facebook Group

This is only the second time I have opened a journal since November so it was really lovely to have a play!

I put together the background after watching a workshop on Wanderlust 2023 using pastels.

I used a white spread in a new Dina Wakley Media Journal and added washi to make a border.
I used matt medium to add the image from Expand

I used Dina Wakley's stamps Not Subtle to add the sentiment and vegetation.

I then added some black and white penwork and removed the washi.

Find more details here

My plan is to show something old and something new each day... but as I am away on holiday for a few days this might be a little difficult.

I have really enjoyed looking through some of my past posts, so I thought I  would add one more post with some of my old makes...

1. Using Smeared ink Digis:

2. Using Ike's Poe Skull Bust and a triple stamped moon (Kitchen Sink)

3. Using Ike's Lenore and Poe Paper Background
plus an unknown rubber stamp from my stash
4. From a Creepmas album, using Smeared Ink rubber stamp
and a vintage Santa (again unsure of the origin)

5. Using Ike's Poe's Death bed

6. Using Leigh's  Nevermore

As you know I have managed to make a set of ATCs in our hotel rooms over the last few days - and two junk journal pages. This is the second - I started with a piece of corrugated card to which I had added colour using my Gelli plate and a piece of string. This I brought with me completed.

I then added some strips of burlap, patterned paper and images from Gecko Galz

I will add these to the Linky

This is a picture of my Poe projects from this week...

8th annual Poe Appreciation Blog Hop - Day 5

My plan is to show something old and something new each day... but as I am away on holiday for a few days this might be a little difficult.

Yesterday I reminded you of my Poe ATC box which I made last year - on the top of this is one of Ike's images (sadly Ike is no longer with us - we miss her).

Today I will start by showing you another old favourite 'Poeject'.

Details of how I made this are as follows:

The frame is plywood cut to shape, burnt using a technique I have mentioned before and varnished.
For the canvas: Step One...Spray canvas with walnut stain through a Clarity Stencil and leave to dry.

Step Two ...Add texture medium through a Creative Hands (Dubai) Stencil and added extra texture with a Lost Coast Designs Fern Background stamp and leave to dry.
Step 3 - Spray with Perfect Pearls Mist in mandarin.
Steps 4 and 5 - Stamp with Smeared Ink rubber stamps - Poe and Nevermore - emphasise with Black marker and black paint. Add Sissix texture and raven dies cut in black tissue with Mod Podge lustre glue.
Step 6 - Place behind frame.

Today  I am sharing four more ATCs using mainly images from Gecko Galz. However this first one has an image I usually use for Bah humbug makes (old image from Delicious Doodles) but I thought it was Poe-like.  It is printed small, coloured with markers and cut out.

I will add these to the Linky
