~~~~~~~
Today I am showing you some of my main 31DOH project illustrating
The Hunting Of The Snark -  a Poem by Lewis Carroll
I put the book together using chipboard and black tape and by sewing in some pages. I then decorated back, front and spine with an acrylics and alcohol background. On the front I had embossed the sentiment using black embossing powder. This is a Visible Image stamp. I then added some doodling and the title on the spine, printed, trimmed and distressed around the edges with tea dye.
Lewis Carroll published The Hunting of The Snark (An Agony in Eight Fits) on April 1st, 1876.
It was illustrated by Henry Holiday - and I have put a copy of the original cover on my first page - inside the cover is a page of marbling.
On the final page , I added the title again on a SU paper, distressed with Tea Dye.
Next I have the first few pages... in each case the right hand side has the words printed, trimmed and distressed with tea dye. On the left hand side I have a section of SU paper.
On the left hand side here I have added an ATC illustrating '42 boxes left on the beach'. Brown card, marbling background and my doodling.
On the left hand side here I added the ATC I showed you yesterday - when the Beaver first makes his appearance in the poem.
Watch out for the next SPOT PRIZE...
Happy Hopping!
October 18th - Day 18 of 31 Days of Halloween
The first thing I want to show you today is an 'inchie' - this is an ATC featuring inch square shapes.
I started with a brown rectangle matted with a background made with Brushos through a tree stencil - I think this MAY be my last scrap of these backgrounds that I made a couple of weeks ago!!
Then I used a scrap of alcohol ink background and the Tim Holtz alcohol lift pad with a Stampin' Up spiders web stamp.
I then used a 1 inch square punch to punch some squares and added them to the ATC.
Finally I used my favourite spider stamp (very old from Lost Coast Designs) to stamp a few spiders, using alcohol ink from the strip again.
Can you see the spider hiding top right?
Are you waiting for the winner of the current SPOT PRIZE?
I asked...
From which poem does the following verse come and who is the author?
"Friends, Romans, and countrymen, lend me your ears!"
   (They were all of them fond of quotations:
So they drank to his health, and they gave him three cheers,
   While he served out additional rations).
I was very pleased to have so many correct entries!
I'm afraid some of you did fall into my little trap...
"Friends, Romans, and countrymen, lend me your ears!"
 is the first line of a speech by Mark Antony in the play Julius Caesar, by William Shakespeare.
But the whole verse printed above is from
The Hunting Of The Snark -  a Poem by Lewis Carroll
and this is the poem that I am including in my main 31DOH project!
Anyway I put the names of all the people with correct answers in the hat and got my independent adjudicator to pick one out...
And the winner is
So Valerie Snaith - please email your address and your prize will be in the post...
susanrenshaw0404@gmail.com
Before I finish today, one more ATC
You'll probably see this little guy in my main project now and then - as a Beaver is one of the characters in the poem.
My ATC is brown card, then marbled background with the Beaver embossed on this in black. I added three gems and a die cut letter B for Beaver. The stamp is wooden-backed from Stamps Direct.
Watch out for the next SPOT PRIZE...
Happy Hopping!
I've had this idea in my head for a while now - but finally got it made to show you today...
It is an ATC folder - or it could contain crafty goodies!
Method
I made it with one sheet of 12 by 12.
I started by scoring my sheet at 4 and 8 inches horizontally and 3 and 9 inches vertically. I cut slits in the folds on the right and left hand sides. I then made 8 pockets sticking them down with glue tape and folding flaps. I used extra paper to make the central row of pockets.
I then added the ribbon around the outside and covered this with more Designer Paper. Finally I added decorations using Tom Holtz ephemera.
It contains 8 ATCs most of which have been featured in this month's posts - there are two new ones. The first one is brown card, Brushos through a stencil background, a Sainsbury's Lego card witch and bat confetti (actually purple - but this doesn't show up in the first photo).
I used this on a card for my granddaughters!
The second one is 3 layers of card then a scrap of alcohol background.  I used the Tim Holtz alcohol lift pad to take the cat image (From Rick St Dennis Sending Smiles Whimsical Mail Art Set) and stamp it on white card. I cut this out and placed it over the remaining image. Not sure if the photos show this very well...
Then I added a piece of witch confetti.
~~~~~~~
My main project (when I start showing it) will contain a poem ... and here's a reminder for the current SPOT PRIZE!! - last day for this ...

From which poem does the following verse come and who is the author?

"Friends, Romans, and countrymen, lend me your ears!"

   (They were all of them fond of quotations:

So they drank to his health, and they gave him three cheers,

   While he served out additional rations).
