Here is another ATC for my Serengeti booklet...

Trawling through the internet (again) I came across this article.

A newly identified killifish species from the iconic Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, has been named after Sir David Attenborough in recognition of his dedicated efforts to promote biophilia – an awareness of the wonders and beauty of nature.

I printed a photo of the fish and cut it out to add to an ATC.

To make the background I used an ATC sized piece of Yupo card, spun in the salad spinner with alcohol inks. I trimmed this a little and placed it on some back card.

I will link this ATC to Leigh's Linky

The reason I thought of a fish today is because of a Facebook memory.
In 2016, 5 years ago today, my daughter and I were in Kuala Lumpur visiting an aquarium - and this fish jumped out of a tank in front of us...

Spooky Garden Flowers!

This is today's post for Oddball Art Co !

For this project I am using

Digital Stamp Creepy Cute Eyeball & Bones Flowers Spooky Garden Image No. 340

I have produced another journal page...

Step ONE

First I prepared a background.

After a layer of white gesso, I added colour using water colours, sprays and inks. The trees are stamped with black Archival using some unnamed stamps.

Step TWO

I printed the images and added colour with watercolours and black and white pens.

Step THREE

I cut out the various images.

Step FOUR

I then decided where I was going to place all the images and attached them with white glue.

Step FIVE

I added black distress around the edges and white coloured pencil round all the images.  The sentiment is one I had in my stash (from Karen Yates).

Finally I added more splatter.

You will see a similar post on the Oddball Blog.

When I made this ATC yesterday, I stamped the image to test it on a piece of white card.

It came out perfectly so I coloured it with gold and silver and cut it out.
I then used it to make another ATC.
To make the background I used an ATC sized piece of Yupo card, spun in the salad spinner with alcohol inks. I trimmed this a little and placed it on some back card.

You probably noticed I threw in an extra post - but this is the one I intended posting today...
Yesterday I shared this folder:

And I said watch out for some more ATCs...
Each of those pockets will hold a couple of ATCs.

I am sharing two more ATCs. Both have backgrounds trimmed to size and placed on scraps of card. The one on the right is a steampunk gelli plate pull. On the left is a background that I made using vintage photo Distress Ink through a cut from Steampunk Serengeti Collage, used as a stencil.

 You will notice some cogs on the left hand of the picture. I cut these with Gears and Leaves. I had a large pile but I managed to waft them off my desk - and I am not sure where many went!

I used these gears on the bottom of my first ATC which was stamped with a steampunk rhino (you may have noticed I hadn't used a rhino yet!)
I added gold pen to the rhino and a touch of white.

In the second ATC, I added a steampunk tortoise, stamped and cut out and coloured with dark red and silver.
(There are Leopard Tortoises is the Serengeti)

I will link this post to Leigh's Linky

Tanya Froud Workshop

This morning I had a lot of fun joining in with a Tanya Froud Virtual Art Journal workshop.

It involved collage paper, a stencil and embellishments from Scrap Fx.

The stamp was once again that one from Bee Arty Limited Edition.

I will link this to Leigh's Hop

I will also add this to the current Lost Coast Portal To Creativity Challenge #128

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge #557 for 28 August 2021 - embossing (wet or dry)

 A new Christmas Challenge every Saturday!

Today Crafty Hazelnut brings a new weekly Christmas Challenge
with the theme 'embossing (wet or dry)'

Do pop over and see the fabulous inspiration from my teamies!

If you enter you could win a prize...
Every week a prize is given to a randomly chosen winner...

This is my card - I have used various types of embossing.

Recipe:

1. White square card blank.
2. Layer of white card passed through my Big Shot in a Tattered Lace embossing folder smeared with prize ribbon Distress Ink. I trimmed this to size and added the same ink around the edges.
3. Triangular piece of white card using another embossing folder in the set, this time smeared with salvaged patina Distress Ink. Again I trimmed it and added the same ink to the edges.
4. Using the same inks to stamp the shapes, I moulded the leaves to make the flower with the Heartfelt Creations Leafy Creations Set. I added a sparkly gem to the centre of this.
5. I embossed the sentiment and cut out each word. The stamp set is Visible Image and I used salvaged patina embossing glaze. I hope you can see the shine in the following photo.

Yesterday I shared this folder:

Today I am sharing some more of my project - I have made a little 'fold-up' to contain the above, and some ATCs.

On the back I added the cut file from Steampunk Serengeti Collage,
 cut in brown, on a layer of green.
On the first fold I used Africa Steampunk Serengeti Collage, cut in green, brown and yellow about 3.5 inches wide.
I used the same steampunk Africa cut as a stencil to make the image on the front.
 I cut the words from giraffe steampunk several times in green and adhered it here and there.

~~~~~~~~~~
The instructions for the folder are as follows:
 I took a double sided piece of 12 by 12 - this is from Stampin' Up.
I scored it horizontally at 3.75 in from top and bottom and vertically at 3in and 9in.
I cut slits as shown and folded tabs on the top and bottom side pieces.
I used narrow double sided tape to stick these down to make the pockets,
 and glued down the tabs.
The pockets are for ATCs. I trimmed the side pieces so they would fold in easier.
 These fold over the mini-booklet folder.
On the back two middle sections I stuck double sided tape and then ribbon.
Now it's time to decorate and finish... the back and front are decorated as first described.
~~~~~~~~

The next pictures show the finished item with some ATCs inserted:

You have already seen the camel ATC if you have been following the hop.

The bat ATC is a re-share using Grimm Batleigh - one that I made for my bat box in one of Leigh's earlier hops.

And yes, Nan, there are bats in the Serengeti...

Watch out for some more ATCs...

I will link this project to Leigh's Linky
