Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #542

This picture includes my make for the

Do pop over to the Color Dare Challenge and take a look at my teamies' makes!

I made these cards in a  Zoom workshop with UK Stampers Network led by Patti Dutton.

This is today's colour scheme - in the first card I used colours similar to Periwinkle, Papaya and Honey Butter using Distress Oxides.

The sentiment stamp is from Sizzix Spring Sentiments by Lisa Jones. The floral spray stamps are by Tim Holtz.

Hope you will join the Color Dare Challenge...

In my second card I used Candy Apple (matting layer) then the intention was to use three colours in Distress Oxide from the palette Honey Butter Papaya and Seabrook - however my third colour looks much more olive in the photos.

The technique involved smearing the inks on a glass mat and picking them up with a piece of card. I then overstamped with a  text stamp in one of the colours and then with a floral stamp in black archival.

WOYWW #721

How can it be Wednesday again? Thank you to all of you who commented on my blog last week - hope I get round to all of you this week!

SO here's my desk!

Once more I am at son Matty's in charge of the girls - so my desk is the dining table. I thought I would have a go at the Wanderlust workshop by Mary Beth Shaw using pencils. This was the  next stage:

It seems however that need some other products to carry on - which I did not bring.

The girls have just started going to Lapidary Club - usually with Nana - last night I went too (grandma!)

We were splitting thunder eggs to see what they might reveal and then polishing the faces. These were mine - I did not quite finish polishing!:

Today the girls had a pupil free day - so after going shopping and a lunch of sushi and bubble tea we came home and made candles...

Although I am not at home to see how the landscaping is going on I do see regular images from the smart doorbell camera:

And I get reports from son Dan, Lizzie and Ollie who are staying in my house while they are renovating.

Wishing you a happy week...

Butterfly Challenge #179 Tent Fold

The current theme for Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge #179 is T is for TENT fold Card

and she gives instructions on how to make one here

This is the wheel - and colours

I am currently over at my son Matty's looking after the girls so do not have a lot of stuff to hand. A visit to Spotlight produced the wherewithal for this...

I have used tea green and teal to make a tent fold card and then stickers from Jenni B, twine in tea green - so this fits the second challenge.

Creative Warriors Inspiration Team - Term 2 Post #16

This is my next inspiration for the Creative Warriors Inspiration Team 2022 - Term 2!

with Michelle Grant Designs

You will see our inspirational creations on the Facebook Group

Today's inspiration started with a 'use up' page in my journal - the colours of lime green, pink and gold made me think of Karma by Karen Yates.

I added one of the images printed on tissue and then painted in gold and used Inktense crayons to add more colour.

Next I added butterflies - printed on book paper that I had brayered with a few colours on acrylic. These images are from Flutterflies by Annette Gearside.

I also added Posca white penwork.

I am adding a few more photos so you can see the shine of the gold...

SO here's my desk!

I had a new set of Art by Marlene Bright watercolours to try out (my old box of shimmery ones are getting pretty empty!)
You can also see a handful of cut out flowers and butterflies - these have been going on journal pages - brayered bookpaper then stamped or printed on.
In the lefthand corner you can just see a pair of ATC collections send by a friend - and a new stamp.

Maybe this is a better picture of my watercolour blobbing:

Last week I showed you that start of a Wanderlust page, this is how it ended up - this was definitely not in my comfort zone. The process involved sketching people with charcoal!

The left hand image is a freebie from the Gecko Galz Steampunk Challenge

The following journal page made use of the flowers - it was based on a Tracy Weinzapfel canvas.

Finally - at last my landscapers have started on the retaining wall at the back of the house, and the front is looking better...

Wishing you a happy week...
