Sketch~N~Scrap Throwback card sketch Challenge

A new Throwback card sketch challenge has been posted at Sketch~N~Scrap

This is the sketch I am going to use:

I actually made a card on 5th April 2015 using this and this was my take on it:

Here's my new version:

I matted the white card blank with a paper from Bee Arty. All the other elements are from 49 & Market Eucalyptus Laser Cut elements. I used vintage photo distress around these to emphasise them.

Sketch~N~Scrap Challenge

I was reminded of Sketch~N~Scrap yesterday - I was once on the DT!

I saw there was a card sketch on Sketch~N~Scrap so I thought I would link something up...

This is the sketch:

This is what I made, using papers, images and sentiment from BeeArty and a piece of embossed paper.

I also used black card as mats for each rectangle.

Another sketch

Sketch N Scrap are having an online crop on facebook
and their third Challenge is to use a sketch:

This card features a Newsletter freebie Valentine's Day Bear from Gerda Steiner - coloured with pencils and a Zig pen.

The sentiment is from Imagine That Digistamps Beary in Love
The background paper is from Imagine That Digistamps and then there are
a variety of scraps from Imagine That Digistamps or Dragons Lair Designs

I hope to have a go at the layout Challenges before the crop is finished...

A couple of sketches

Sketch N Scrap are having an online crop on facebook
and their first Challenge is to use a sketch:

Just by chance I bought a packet of doilys on Wednesday - so here is my card:

At the same time I bought those little heart dies - so I thought I would try them out!
All the papers are from my scraps but the image and sentiment are from
From The Heart - I coloured the piggy with pencils!
(I also added googly eyes!)
and
Allsorts Challenge #402

Talking of From the Heart they also have a sketch challenge on the go:

Again I used a From the Heart Image and Sentiment - this time a freebie Bunny Love
The red filigree was taken from an intricate diecut and edged with black paper.
I hand cut the hearts and drew stitching around the bunny. The sentiment is cut out with a stitched die as is the black mat it is sitting on.
I again used pencils to colour the image and added googly eyes.

Today's make is a Halloween Card...

You may remember I was on the DT at Sketch~N~Scrap for a couple of terms
some while ago...

Well, here I am doing a Friday Flashback, celebrating World Card Making MONTH!!

Why not have a go and link up your make?

Here is my card...

I think you can recognise the sketch - the squares have become pumpkins!!.

For this card I scored and folded white card to make the base - when I do this I always like to start with an envelope and make it to fit - then there's no problem finding a suitable envelope afterwards!! And the green one is Halloween-y!!

I matted my base with black card and then a handmade background...

I used white card to mop up spritzed 'rusty hinge' distress ink and distressed my trimmed rectangle with the same ink. I then stamped it with black Stazon using Crafter's Companion Splats and Stains rubber stamps.
You probably recognise this as I have used the same technique several times this month...

Next I added a strip of DP from my stash saying Happy Halloween -
sorry I am not sure of the origin of this paper.

And then three pumpkins - printed and fussy cut.
These come from Imagine That Digistamps Scarecrow

Hope to see your makes at SNS

If you would like to win one of my Halloween makes please check out
31DOH Giveaways!! on the side bar.
Happy Hopping!

World Card Making MONTH

At the beginning of the month Sketch~N~Scrap celebrated
World Card Making Day on facebook with three challenges.
They will be celebrating World Card Making all MONTH on their blog!!

CHALLENGE NUMBER ONE: Using the this sketch create TWO cards with a SEASONAL THEME (Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall). Your card can be for any occasion (birthday, thank you etc) but the papers and supplies used to create you card must be seasonally themed (i.e. leaves for Fall, snowflakes for Winter, Christmas tree for Winter) Each card must represent a different season and you please include BOTH cards in ONE photo.

Here are my makes...as you can see I have used layers of DP from my stash with focal images on the top.

In this first one I have used a topper that is decoupaged  and the papers and sentiments are from an Amy Tangerine paper pad.
Memories of Summer! I will link this to

In my second card I am not sure where the paper came from but the swirls are made using a Tattered Lace embossing folder with added distress ink. I have added Liquid pearls to the holly on these.

For the last two days Sketch~N~Scrap have been celebrating
World Card Making Day on facebook
They will be celebrating World Card Making all MONTH on their blog!!

Anyway today I am sharing with you my Halloween-y card
that I made as Challenge 3 of the Facebook competition and Day 3 of 31DOH.

(I will show you Challenges 1 and 2 at a later stage)

CHALLENGE NUMBER THREE: Using this sketch, create a card that uses FALL COLORS and have it be a THANK YOU, GRATITUDE or FRIENDSHIP themed card.

This is my card, starting on a cream rectangular card base:

I decided to use William Blake's words...

For the banners I used strips of embossed spider web - similar to the one I used on my Day 1 calendar - I never make just one of something like this!! These were layered on some brownish DP from my stash as was the quote.

I then added a spider, a die cut bird and some orange domed stickers.

Blake's words can have either a negative or positive meaning...
I am going with the positive where the web is the spider's home,
the nest the bird's home where the chicks are nurtured.
So Friendship is a nurturing positive place which feels like home...
As such I will link this card to the Path of Positivity Challenge #42

My final Sketch~N~Scrap DT Card Inspiration

I have reached the end of my second term on the DT of Sketch~N~Scrap so it is time to bid
a fond farewell...this is my final post on the team!

A new card sketch has been posted at Sketch~N~Scrap today!
Why not have a go and link up your make?

This is the sketch:

Here is the photo of my make that you will have seen over at SNS...

I decided to make an interactive card based on the sketch - starting with a teal card blank.

The papers are from American Crafts 'My Girl' Paper Pad.
The sentiment is from Imagine That! - it came free with
the Digi of the Month - Ice Cream Parlour

The Ice Cream Parlour image is going to slide on a small coin along a band, made of pink card and more DP. The stamp was stamped in white Stazon.

This is attached to the card on dimensionals, placing the coin in place first with a dimensional in the middle of that.

I used the precoloured version of the Ice Cream Parlour

I printed and cut out the image and stuck it on the dimensional.

Gently pushing the cart takes it along the band...

The final touch was adding a 3D ice cream cone - from my stash.

I will link this to the Imagine That! DOTM Challenge.

Hope to see your makes at SNS
