Playing with some chipboard embellishments.

At the beginning of January, our daughter left the UK to go and live and work in Australia - our 3 sons and their families are already there...
Before that we helped Sophie clear her house. This meant many trips to various charity shops as well as putting things on ebay, after she had packed the stuff she was keeping.

It sort of put us in the mind of clearing some of our clutter...so, amongst other things I have been putting quite a lot of crafty stuff on ebay - trying to destash my craft room!!
I hadn't realised I had so many half finished projects in so many different crafty areas!

Anyway one of my lots is for some Craftwork Cards packs of plant pot and planter cards. Each pack contains 10 of each press out shapes in white - ready for colouring or embellishing and glueing. I am selling these 2 for 1 as I thought they would be ideal for Playgroups or Brownie packs or such.

The planter makes quite a nice little gift box: I just added some patterned paper.

Using the plant pot card design and little children in mind, I came up with this simple idea: Again I decorated with patterned paper.

However, as I was sorting out my craft room I came across some chipboard embellishments
and came up with the next idea:

The plant pot bottom is embellished with some snippets of ribbon (the butterfly ones from a prize from Mrs A - thank you again ValeryAnne!) on a scrap of textured card.
I added an extra piece of card above the pot to attach the floral embellishments to...

I will link this to the Butterfly Challenge. Although I haven't used an aperture and only touches of the colours it is definitely 'Anything Goes'!

I will also link it to Pixie's Snippet's Playground!

and also to the new Challenge on Outlawz Crash Your Stash

By the way if you'd like the link to my ebay lot it is here

Crafty Hazelnut's Weekly Christmas Challenge #426

a new Christmas Challenge every Saturday!

Today Crafty Hazelnut brings a new weekly Christmas Challenge
with the theme 'Use some gold'.

Do pop over and see the inspiration from my teamies!

Here's my card...

Recipe:
1. I decided to make a zigzag card using two white card bases. I used a background from
Decosse's Dynamite Doodles

On the first fold I die cut a scalloped circle through this background.
2. I then used a variety of images from Imagine That Digistamps Beary Merry Christmas either printed on white or combined with the background.

3. I placed the bear on the background behind the aperture, the bear cut out from white on the next fold and the sentiment on the background on the next fold.

4. I added gold glitter glue on the bear's hat and gold sentiment stickers along the card from and inner page.

I hope you will join the
CHNC Challenge 426

Addicted to Stamps and More #329

Here's my CAS card...for the Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

I was inspired by all the daffodils that are springing up everywhere.

Recipe:
1. White scalloped card blank layered with a square cut with a stitched die. On this I printed the the sentiment directly. (Craftstash March Daffodil Stamp Set)
2. I stamped the daffodil using the same stamp set, cutting out the elements and piecing them together.

Hope you will enter the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge!

And my final post as I am off to bed shortly...(even though I still have a few images on my work table that I didn't get round to...)

I have two more ATCs to show you in this post.

I have used images and sentiment from Lizzy Love at  Oddball Art Co

In each case I printed the images and added a little colour with Copics and then trimmed them. I used scraps of card to make the layers behind the images.

I distressed the second with Black Soot distress ink.
Finally I added a little embellishment.

I will add these ATCs to the linky...on Leigh's Day #1 on 12th February

This is my Day #5 Post!

In this post I have a tag to share...

In my craft room sort out I came across some skull beads and some heart shaped shaker thingies...

I started with a MDF tag which I layered with a piece of black card and then a piece of eco paper a friend had sent me. I had punched the corners of this and punched a heart shape to let in the shaker thing.

I added beads to the heart, distressed wround the edges with Black Soot and then added the metal embellishment and the gold roses. I added the verse, printed on some Fabscraps paper and again distressed around the edges with Black Soot.
Fonally I added the string with two more beads.

The verse is

“Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.”

This uplifting bereavement poem was written by Mary Elizabeth Frye in the 1930s. It declares that the people you love are not gone, they are all around you.
I will add this tag to the linky...on Leigh's Day #1 on 12th February
