So what's on my workdesk? Actually I am not at my workdesk as once again I am over at Paynesville staying with the youngest son and granddaughters.

Not quite as quiet as at our house with Kevin away!

This is what I brought with me to carry on Crafting.

I brought the guillotine as one of my plans was to make a mini album - but I forgot my score board so that will have to wait until I am back home. I have continued with my temperature blanket, now having almost finished one quarter!

I brought this little kit for the girls to do - and I was showing them how to blend pencil crayons...

Apart from that I have been out and about to collect one of Matty's cars - and then doing the usual cooking, washing and sorting...

Addicted to Stamps and More #426 - Make Your Mark

Here's my Make Your Mark project...for the Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More
This challenge requires a card or scrapbook page or tag... using markers or colouring pencils or the like - making your mark...today I have used pencil crayons blended with isopropyl alcohol on a card.

The image I have used is one from Beccy's Place that I used earlier in the year. I wanted to use it as I thought it was a little like sunflowers and I have been making 🌻 projects thinking of Ukraine.

This is part of Bees and Blooms. Previously I printed the image and painted it with shimmery water colours.

The technique I have used today gives a slightly different look.

I trimmed the image to size and placed it on a white card blank matted with green card. I then used a fineliner to make faux stitching.

Happy Crafting!

Hope you will enter the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge! Do hop over to see the fabulous inspiration from my team-mates!

CHNC challenge 587 for 26 March 2022 - Something Funny

A new Christmas Challenge every Saturday!

Today Crafty Hazelnut brings a new weekly Christmas Challenge
with the theme 'Something funny'.

Do pop over and see the fabulous inspiration from my teamies!

I have made a simple card using a layer of paper from my stash on a white card blank.

I then added the sentiment and image (coloured with watercolours). These were from Bugaboo.

Gecko Galz Monthly Steampunk Challenge March 2022

In this post I am using the image from the

Gecko Galz Monthly Steampunk Challenge

I was just playing in my junk journal  to add a page alongside my Gothic page.

The page already had splatters. I added some scraps of patterned paper from my stash. I used vintage photo Distress ink on the edges.

I added the image and some words and penwork.

LeighSB Designs #3 Challenge Glorious Green

I have been thinking of what green stands for after a workshop in a recent virtual retreat with Michelle Grant Designs.  This was Fi Gains' workshop.

I then saw that Carolyn Dube's play sparks prompt is 'square'.

This make is a result of the three themes.

I started with a square piece of cardboard to which I added white gesso and green paint. I then added squares of green patterned paper from my scraps. I added vintage photo Distress inks around the edges.
I then added the image which is a freebie from Gecko Galz Challenge March image, cut out and distressed.
Finally I added the words suggested by green.

I will add this to Leigh's Linky

Creative Warriors Inspiration Team - Post #6

This is my next inspiration for the Creative Warriors Inspiration Team 2022 - Term 1

with Michelle Grant Designs

You will see our inspirational creations on the Facebook Group

Today I have been using Animal Heads by Cindy Porter

Firstly I formed the background by using a brayer to add spritzed colour (orange and teal) to the journal page (Dylusions). I had placed washi tape around the edges to form a border.

I then added strips of paper torn from a page from the teal bliss set, edged with black soot Distress Ink.

I stamped the page with a texture stamp from Crafter's Companion Splats and Stains. I used white gesso to stamp circles with a bottle top.

I used another paper from Teal Bliss to cut out the 'body'. I coloured the head with pencil crayons, blending them with isopropyl alcohol. This technique was shared by Cindy in a workshop in the recent Colour Me Crazy retreat where we coloured a Zebra.

I used a Stabilo All pencil around the figure

Finally I added some penwork in black - and white Posca to the eyes.
Finally I added the words - Art by Marlene stickers.

So what's on my workdesk?

Remember last week I mentioned I had a new printer (which is going well by the way) and I needed to reorganise? Well I started, but generally made rather a mess of all and sundry. This area is about the tidiest - on the top shelf you can see all the things I intend doing at some stage...

It didn't help that we popped over to son Matty's for the weekend - mind you that was fun...

And we did discover we have plaster in the house...

As a consequence I have not really done very much crafting this week - only several things for design teams but they are not to be published yet.

And then yesterday Kevin set off for work in Egypt. This project has been in the planning stages for 2 years but has been continually been put back because of Covid.

I woke up this morning to find two branches had blown off a tree in the garden. Typical when he isn't here! Fortunately my son Tom and Clare came round to help!

It seems pretty quiet in the house - but I haven't really had time to think about it today - I started of with physio, then went for a blood test, then a haircut, then my nails done - and called in to sort out our market stall at one stage.

Happy WOYWW!

Find inspiration in the song or rhyme:

Catch a falling Star
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day
For love may come and tap you on the shoulder
Some starless night
Just in case you feel you wanna' hold her
You'll have a pocketful of starlight

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away (never let it fade away)
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day (save it for a rainy day)
(Save it for a rainy, rainy, rainy day)
For when your troubles starting multiplying
And they just might
It's easy to forget them without trying
With just a pocketful of starlight

Here is my inspiration:

I used the image Sally's Stars

I printed the image with sentiment, coloured it with markers and trimmed it. I distressed the edges with vintage photo Distress Ink. I placed this  on the card base - a yellow card blank, matted with a patterned paper which had been trimmed to size and also distressed.

I added a ribbon to the side and added a flower.

Hope you will join in the challenge...
