Thinking about the digi giveaway - you have to suggest a favourite amongst Leigh's digis - I love the Alice in Wonderland selection and today I used Leigh's

 White Rabbit Grunge Collage.

As you see above the hop includes Spring projects - and I was reminded somewhere online yesterday of Spring cards - not made one for years!!
When you take this card from the envelope, it springs up!

I have used the Splitcoaststampers tutorial and my Cricut to cut and score the base in red card.

I layered the square and base piece with a paper from Kaisercraft's Pen & Ink 6.5" Paper Pack, distressed with brushed corduroy.
I printed the image and cut out the rabbit, adding colour with Copics.
I was thinking of adding a sentiment on the base - maybe 'I'm late...'
but rather liked it as it is... Do you have any suggestions?

Watch out for some more makes in the current month...it may not be every day but we will see!

Hope to see you on Leigh's Birthday hop

As this card has a square on it I will also link it to

The other day I saw a mini pop up box card made by Monica at Oddball Stamps. I thought it was stunning - and thought I would have a go...

To give you an idea of the size, the card folds down to a square just over 4 inches across...

The paper I used was a lovely one from Webster's pages - orange stripes on one side, 'bunting' on the other.

I cut the basic shape using my Cricut, stuck it together and then started embellishing it.

I cut pieces of the paper to make bunting across the fold down sides.

I used Leigh's Birthday Cupcake digi.
I printed it very small (2 inches tall) three times, coloured the images with Copics and cut them out. I used strips of acetate to place these at different levels from the central card strip.

I drew and cut the tag on the Cricut (another lesson!).

Happy Birthday LeighSB Designs!

Wouldn't it be nice to go on an Easter picnic...?

Today I had a couple of projects in mind...
  •  I wanted to find out how to use pens with my Cricut
  •  I needed to make an inspirational make for the Oddball Design Team

A black pen was supplied with the machine and I used this in the sample card that came with it. But my daughter gave me a set of 5 pens as part of my Birthday present - so I wanted to find out how to use them...

Having done a bit of research on the internet these were my first examples:

I wanted to use Oddball Art Co's  IMG 36.
First I had to change this into an svg file and then import it into the Cricut Design Space.

Playing around with the colours, I eventually ended up with this:

As you can see the Cricut only gives outlines so I then added extra colour using Copics...

Recipe:
  1. Card base and layering sheets cut with Cricut.
  2. Floral paper from a Francheville Summer Life paper stack.
  3. Image #36 drawn in colour using Cricut, extra colour using Copics,
  4. Die cut beetles using Big Shot and a die from Spotlight, in black and yellow card.
If you would like to buy any of Lizzy's Oddball images use my DT code: DTSUSAN10
This coupon code is for 10% OFF the entire Oddball Art Website

I am also going to add this to Leigh's Birthday Hop

Today is Day 13... April 13th - Easter Monday - but what a strange Easter Monday?

Today is Day 11... April 11th

Ike is sponsoring Leigh's Birthday hop so to start today, I thought I would share a past make using one of Ike's images.

I used Flower Square to make a gatefold card

I coloured this with markers to use as a paper....

The flowers on the closing band are cut from another page.

I added a tag inside to be used as a to/from label.

Hope you will pop over to Ike's World Challenges and have a look at the current challenge....

Today I have another card to share with you:

As it is Easter I wanted to make a card with a cross on it.
This cross is a Celtic cross once drawn by Teri Sherman of Delicious Doodles.

I used the Cricut to Print and Cut it.
I added this to a layer of pink textured cardstock and distressed the edges with
brushed corduroy. I added this to a white card blank.

Watch out for some more makes in the current month...it may not be every day but we will see!

Hope to see you on Leigh's Birthday hop

W for Waterfall Card

The theme for Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge #140 is W for Waterfall card.
and she gives instructions on how to make one here

The wheel is as follows:

Once again I cut and scored all the pieces with my Cricut. Now that I have all the pieces set out it will make it easy to make another!

I chose a Wheat coloured card for one of the layers - and a Bokeh paper from
Décosse's Dynamite Doodles for the main paper. I didn't have a lot of choice for the ribbon!
I stamped the butterflies with a brown archival ink - unmarked stamp set.

Anyway I will link this to the Butterfly Challenge #140
