Still working on trees!

I am still trying to design some CAS Christmas cards that will be light to post...
I decided that a Christmas tree would be a good theme.

My earlier idea developed into this:-

Instead of stamping directly on to the card base (OLC before),
I embossed onto another piece of card,
cut it out and matted it onto the card base.

Then on someone's blog I saw a tree made of scraps -
I developed it a little and it became this:-

I had the tiny 'tree lights' in my stash!

Then on Delicious Doodles I spotted this Celtic Xmas Tree...

A little colour from Promarkers, distress ink around the image, a matching card base
and then a bow and a button!

Here is the pink version:-

These trees were printed on white card but then I thought about printing them on DP...

This time I just added some distress ink around the image, matted onto a deckle edge card base and added a flower and some form of ribbon or bow.

I am going to submit this card to
and

Another fold!

I can't remember if I have ever put this fold on my blog -
I am still looking for lightweight Christmas cards so thought this might fit the bill...

First you take a 10 by 5 inches piece of card - this will make a 5 by 5 card.

Score at 2.5 inches, 5 inches and the diagonals which go from the ends of the 2.5 inch score to the centre of the square. Cut off the triangles to square off this end.

Fold as in the picture  - you should find it will lie flat as the bottom left in the red example.

Then it just needs embellishing...

All I did was stick Christmas ribbon along the bottom using double sided tape.
I also stuck the lower triangle down so it stays in place.
I had coloured a Digi Darla image "Holly and Berries" with Promarkers.
I cut this out with an oval die and matted it onto a similar red oval.
I attached berries - red and gold speckled 'Candy Bonbon'.
Finally I added an embellishment from my 'bit box'...

I am going to submit this to Digi Darla's Challenge #88 Berrylicious

Just stopping by to say 'Howdy!'

I love the Bugaboo images!
And this one was a recent Friday Freebie...

I am hoping I am in time to submit my card to the latest challenge at Catch the Bug

Just a very simple card which would be good to send to a young friend!

A yellow card base, the image printed on a paler yellow,
with just a little colour (Promarkers) and matted on to brown.
"Howdy!" printed on my computer, similarly matted on brown and attached with foam pads.
A twine lasso and a flower...

Hope you like it!

Backgrounds

I have been playing with 'shaving foam and food colouring backgrounds again...
(To see how look at this)

Anyway the results give some gorgeous vibrant backgrounds...

First three simple tags...

I matched each background to a coloured tag and added a narrow ribbon.
I then overstamped with Versafine with varying intensity.
The stamp is an Inkadinkado wood blocked one.
I then added butterfly embellishments from my stash...

Another tag - this time with a Steampunk theme...

I matched ayellowish background with a mustard card to make a tag and added a yellow ribbon.
I stamped various 'Steampunk' animals - two directly onto the background, one onto supplementary card to cut out and add on, on dimensionals.
I then added various embellishments from my 'bit box'!!
I am going to submit this as a second entry to the Steampunk challenge on

Finally I made this card...

It started with a bright green pre-folded card matted with this lovely green/yellow background!
I then printed the Lavinia Stamps digi - Zen tree and added a little gold Promarker...
Next came my bling gun - and the topaz crystals. Then micro beads...
Finally three tiny roses and a sentiment...

I am going to submit this to

I had a lovely time playing!!
Happy Crafting!

Stella Says Sketch

Just a very quick post with this next card - another one to add to my Christmas collection!

This is my take on it

I used last week's Friday Freebie at Bugaboo, various papers from my scraps including one from Papermania's 12 days of Christmas, silver stickles and silver lace.

Hope you like it!
