What did I make as my main 31DOH project last year?

So Day 3 of 31DOH... I decided to add some ATCs to the box I started in May in Leigh's Halfway to Halloween.

 The ATC box was painted with a variety of acrylics and then layered with rectangles of card - the final layer was a piece containing pressed flowers. Using Zig real brush pens I coloured LeighSB's Tangled Rose Collage and used this to cut a variety of shapes - on the front of the box is a 'splat'. I  also added Halloween - a Tattered Lace die from the 2017 Advent calender.

                 

Here are the first few ATCs that I made to put inside...

The first one uses some of the Tonic ATC Collection dies...then a set of 3 - black card then scraps of a Smeared Ink paper then die cut shapes from the Tangled Rose plus some die cuts - Tonic and more Tattered Lace from the Advent Calendar.

Today I have made three more ATCs using LeighSB's Zombie images that I used yesterday.  I had three images left and I used these on scraps from my worktable.
I added colour with a couple of markers and metal embellishments.

Greenish DP then marbled background. Moon embellishment.

Brown striped card then Brusho background. Skeleton Embellishment.

What did I make as my main 31DOH project last year?

So for Day 2 I decided to use some of Leigh's new Halloween images

The Zombie Bundle

I printed these three images several times in a size small enough to fit an ATC on green and beige card. I added a little colour with markers and cut them out. 

These then became the main feature of a pocket letter:

Each of the 9 ATCs started with a rectangle of black card, followed by a slightly smaller rectangle of a background I had made using acrylics and alcohol.

These are the ATC's before I placed them in the folder:

It is so difficult photographing Pocket Letters when they are placed in their plastic!!

Here's my card for Challenge #46 Gear Up for Winter.

Using Penguin

This is a fold that I often use , using a 4in strip from a 12 by 12, scored and folded at 2, 4, 8, 10 inches.
I added layers of white and the Designer Paper to each section.
I then added Penguin, coloured and cut out, with sparkly Stickles on the hat.
I added the sentiment on the other side, cut with a scalloped square die and distressed with Salty Ocean.

So....can you believe it is already October? Where has this year gone?

I have just turned over September on my mixed media calendar, ready for the next page...

I decided the October page would be my Day 1 of 31DOH - as usual I am going to try to post something every day.

Last October I spent much of the month in Australia so I was really organised - finishing my Halloween make on the flight over!! I then only had to blog while I was away.

This year, October has crept up on me and I am not so ready - but I will still have some spot prizes and the chance to win some of my makes -

What did I make as my main 31DOH project last year?

I have been making my mixed media calendar for some years now, sometimes recycling the previous year's flip card, sometimes making a new one.

Last year my October looked like this:

In 2016 it looked like this:

This was the flip page:

This year I decided to use some marbled backgrounds, trimming the first just smaller than the orange base. I embossed the shattered image in black embossing powder (Visible Image How Fragile) and die cut October from it (Tim Holtz die).  

I embossed the same image on an ATC sized piece of another marbled background and mounted this on orange too. As usual you will see lots of ATCs in my 31DOH!

House of Cards October Challenge

Welcome to the House of Cards October Challenge! 

 our current challenge

is

Autumn Flowers and/or Colors

Here's my card - it follows the colour swatch.
 I was looking for a sunflower stamp in my stash but I came up with this!

Recipe:

1. White square card blank.

2. Layers of green and beige.

3. Image from Impression Obsession, stamped and coloured with a number of markers.

I had intended colouring the image using Brushos - scattering the stamp with powders, spritzing with water and stamping, overstamping in black.

These were the results:

I put together a card as above, with one of the versions:

On comparing the two I decided the marker version was the best...
