WOYWW #843

It is Wednesday so I am linking to WOYWW at Sarah's craft shed

Follow the link to find out more about What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday and maybe join in... This is my post for WOYWW #843.

On my desk easel you can see another page from Michelle's Creative Warriors  Junk Journal July Challenge This is the second week: again l have managed to do two pages.

Day 3 again
using images and sentiment from Confidence.

The background is a sunburst using paint markers. The idea came from looking at pop art examples on the internet. I coloured the image using water colours and ABM markers.

For my second page I used another page in my looseleaf journal.
I again used the image from 'Confidence', this time pre-coloured. I painted the surrounds with watercolour. I placed this behind vellum and a window (coloured with pastel) from a set by Michelle Grant called 'Girl Next Door'

I added this to the background which is book paper, pastels, inks through a brickwork stencil and drips. I then added the sentiment and leaves die cut using a die and paper from Bee Arty.

There are also some more journal pages on my desk but they are to be blogged next month so I cannot share yet.

Nothing else to share really, although I did have a lovely dinner out last night with my cousin Helen and her husband Sean who are over from the UK for the Lions tour.

All for now...
Happy WOYWW!

Here's my Birthday project...for the Challenge #498 at Addicted to Stamps and More

My card has a white base matted with a variety of layers of card and embossed paper. The brown card was used to die cut the bird and a frame. Finally I added a wooden sentiment.

Folding the Flat Mail I mentioned earlier

Take a rectangle of paper - this has a pattern on one side and is white on the other. The white side is where you might journal or write a letter...

Fold one corner down.

Unfold this and fold the other corner down.

Unfold again and fold the bottom two corners up to the point where the previous two folds cross.

 Fold the top strip down.

Flip this fold back to the other side and fold the little corners in.

Unfold the paper and look at the middle fold lines. Have the triangle fold at the bottom and the square above. Push the horizontal folds above the triangle together. This forms a pocket in which you can add some enclosures.

Fold the small triangles in.

fold the outside triangles down.

Tuck the points of these triangles into the flap.

Decorate the other side if you wish.
This can be popped inside a junk journal or mailed in an envelope.

Hope you will join the challenge

Michelle's Creative Warriors Junk Journal July - Week 1

It has been pretty quiet recently on the Facebook Group with Michelle Grant Designs

but things are have started rolling again.

There is a Junk Journal July Challenge going on...

So far I have completed Week 1 using images from Reconnecting in some cases.

Day 1
This design was suggested by Dolly in a UKSN Zoom Craft and Chat.
All the images and sentiment are from my MGD scrap drawer.

Day 2
Again I used quote and door image from my MGD scrap drawer.
The background is a combination of water coloured book paper and black and white paper (this was also from my MGD scrap drawer).

Day 3
The background here is a napkin. I used book paper painted blue for the tree and more leaves in green.
I then added penwork. The sentiments are from my drawer.

Day 4
My monochrome is yellow/orange. This is one of my favourite images from Expand.
The sun rays are pieces of Gelli pull.

Day 5
This is part of a whimsical journal which has 4 signatures each with a variety of different shaped pages. With this one I was trying to get the shape of a cloud. I added to this an image and sentiment from Reconnecting. I added more colour to the clouds with water colour crayons. I then added the butterflies alos from Reconnecting, fussy cut and with extra colour from water colours, Finally I added white ink splatter.

Day 6
Just a quick one - this time in a looseleaf journal. I started with the forest scene from Reconnecting, adding watercolour to emphasise certain parts. I added the sentiment at the bottom. Next I added my lady using card, fabric and washi plus the face from Reconnecting. Finally I added more water colour, some stabilo all around the figure and white ink splatter.

WOYWW #842

It is Wednesday so I am linking to WOYWW at Sarah's craft shed

Follow the link to find out more about What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday and maybe join in... This is my post for WOYWW #842.

I haven't added any posts between last weeks WOYWW and this - I must check that I haven't forgotten anything I was supposed to do! I know I have a couple of ICAD posts to do...

On Michelle's Creative Warriors there is a Junk Journal July Challenge This is the second week: l have managed to do two pages.

Both of these you should be able to see on my desk - amongst the mess. Top of my to do list is to tidy up!

This is the first using images from Confidence

The background is stencilled brickwork and leaves. I added images some of which open to show flowers.

I decided to add extra penwork to the background leaves.

For my second page I used another page in my whimsical journal. I chose a page that looked like  a tree top. To this I used my Gelli plate and a stencil to add leaves - and then added penwork.

I fussy cut some of the leaves from a page in 'Confidence'  to add to this.

The end flips out and I added leaves cut from a Gelli pull - you might be able to see the rest of this on my desk.

I added more leaves and a sentiment.

Michelle Grant has extended the challenge into August so I don't feel so bad about being on catch up.

We have been so busy over the last 6 weeks but the school holidays have now ended so things should get back to normal!

I joined in a Zoom Craft and Chat with UK Stampers network on Friday morning and Mickey showers us how to make a flat mail... it can be used as a letter or for journalling to slip in a journal... It was folded from a rectangle of paper - this was just one that was on my desk.

I added some ephemera inside.

I embellished the front with an ATC.

See directions here.

All for now... I am freezing here so all your talk about heat makes me so envious!

Happy WOYWW!
