I will be sharing today's crafty make on Leigh's info page...

Today is December 1st and the first day of Summer here in Australia -
so what better than a picture of the sun?

This is based on Modhubani Art as demonstrated by Bandana Agarwal in a workshop with the London Drawing Group.

I started by painting my page with turmeric and then drew the design using red and black pens.

Happy Hopping!

  1. What an awesome sun it is too!

  2. WOW!!! AWESOME! It must have taken some time... so many fine lines!!! I love it.

  3. Gorgeous! Happy Summer as we start Winter..still feels strange for me after celebrating Christmas in Summer for 24 years in South Africa.
Thanks for joining in on the 'Tis the Season Blog Hop!
    Stay Safe!

  4. Did you use the spice for the background color? I want to try making some dyes with spices and teas. Happy Summer! We have summer days still where I live with some delightfully cooler days in between rains :) Wonderful journal page!

    1. Yes I just put some turmeric in water and used it as a wash. Have also done ecopaper with tea and coffee, beetroot etc...but not recently.
