What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday #600

WOYWW

It's Wednesday again - so I am linking this post to the Stamping Ground.

But a very special Wednesday as it's the 600th WOYWW!

I managed to visit some of you last week - but the internet was against me in the holiday house  - however I am home again after a lovely week...It was great to see the granddaughters and even do some crafting with them.

My daughter and I have been making some simple felt Christmas Tree decorations. When Jasmine saw them she wanted to make a flamingo...

Anyway here's my desk picture for WOYWW 600!

First - I have yet to turn over and make my December calendars...
I am in the process of making my last few tags for 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I have now made at least one for each day! The desk is scattered with Christmas embellishments - part of a gift from the virtual retreat with Hillbilly Scrappin'. You can also see an envelope - this contains the prize I won on the Coffee Lovers Hop from CAS-ual Fridays - a selection of stamps...

These are the hexagonal tags you can see:

I cut and drew the hexagon bases using my Cricut. The dots are Distress Oxides through a stencil. I then gold embossed the star stamp. While I was playing with my Cricut I also made the hats for these tags:

Apart from this I have not done a huge amount of crafting although I did do this bit of Madhubani Art after following a workshop by the London Drawing Group.

As it was December the 1st yesterday I put up our Advent calendar - made about 35 years ago by a friend (while I looked after our 6 kids at the time). The tree was made by my brother...

And I lit Day 1 of the Advent candle...

Have a happy 600th WOYWW !!

  3. HI Susan, happy Big 6-0-0! You've been busy this week, lots of lovely projects, the Santa hat tags are so cute and I'm very taken with the Madhubani drawing - I haven't heard of that before and it looks beautiful. Another note to make on my list of stuff to check out! Cheerio for now xOx Annie C #35

  4. Wow, I love those flamingos. So cute and so kitsch. You have a great advent calendar, even if it's old. I also LOVE your tree your brother made. You have a great desk, with everything close at hand. Happy 600th from #6.

  5. Hi Susan. Happy 600th edition! Glad you are home again and enjoying time with your family. Those flamingos are great fun! Well done. The tags are looking good.
Your tree made by your brother is so lovely. Really unusual. That's a great advent calendar made by your friend. I also have an advent calendar which is handmade. I did it some years back after finding the pergamano pattern in a magazine. It comes out each year and I love it. But I completely forgot about a candle this year! Bother... Never mind - we are having an Advent event between the whole family instead - each of us contributing a whatsapp "something" for each day. Yesterday's was a quiz - oh boy! It is some challenge!! It will keep me going all 24 days - and we are not allowed to cheat and look up the answers!!
    Take care. God bless.

  12. Well, if everyone else is doing a Christmas, then I think flamingoes are absolutely apropos! And what a great job she made of them too. I like your tags Susan, even on a break you’re very busy! Loving the start of the decorations, how fab to still be using the advent calendar.

  13. Hi Susan, happy 600th WOYWW. Great picture of your daughter/granddaughter crafting- that must be lovely. My daughters had grown up and left home long before I became a crafter. I probably wouldn't have had room for crafting if they still lived at home! My grandchildren occasionally craft, but they have not been for a sleepover in such a long time. I love the advent calendar, how special that you have kept it all these years. And the flamingos are perfect for Christmas! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #25
