Crafty Hazelnut's Challenge 379 - Add a star or two or more...

a new Christmas Challenge every Saturday!

Today Crafty Hazelnut brings a new weekly Christmas Challenge
with the theme 'Add a star or two or more...'

Do pop over and see the inspiration from my teamies!

Here is my card:

I started with a cream rectangular card base used it 'landscape'.
I  used yellow and beige card as layers to my image and sentiment.
The image and sentiment are part of a Stampin Up Set - "come to Bethlehem" I think.
These are mainly stamped with black Versafine but I used gold embossing powder on the star.

Like last week, this too reminds me of a carol...
so once again the words are running through my head!!

Butterfly Challenge #98 - Spin the Wheel with the letter T

I am off to Australia for a couple of weeks on Monday
so I actually have a million things I SHOULD be doing at the moment...

But I thought I would just share this and enter the current Butterfly Challenge...

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to join a crafty retreat with

We spent Saturday and Sunday crafting away...!

One of the makes is a work in progress - making a folder with books inside that will become perhaps a diary or an art journal or a bullet journal.

The cover was a mixed media piece - I'd still like to add a little to this...

Anyway... I would like to share one of the book covers for inside as my Butterfly Challenge make...this has two identical butterflies on it (and a different one)
- the stamps (including the sentiment) are from Visible Image.

The background was formed by using distressing tools to cover the card with Distress inks and glycerin, followed by using more ink through stencils.
I think I have Tomato there...

Crafty Hazelnut's Weekly Challenge #378 - Inspired by a Christmas Song or Carol.

a new Christmas Challenge every Saturday!

Today Crafty Hazelnut brings a new weekly Christmas Challenge
with the theme 'Inspired by a Christmas Song or Carol'.

Do pop over and see the inspiration from my teamies!

Here is my card:

I started with a small (4 by 4 inch) card base and matted this with green card.
I stamped the image (unknown stamp), added a little colour with Zig real brush pens and cut it out with a Tonic ATC Collection die. I added 'mowed lawn' distress ink around the edges.
Finally I stamped 'Deck The Halls' (part of a Stampin Up stamp) and punched it out. A little more distress ink and that's that...

The problem with a song inspiration,
the words are then running through your head all day...

Deck the halls with boughs of holly, Fa la la la la la la la! 'Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la la la la! Don we now our gay apparel, Fa la la la la la la la! Troll the ancient Yuletide carol, Fa la la la la la la la! See the blazing yule before us, Fa la la la la la la la! Strike the harp and join the chorus, Fa la la la la la la la!

Butterfly Challenge #97 - Spin the wheel with L

This is the current Butterfly Challenge from Mrs A

Here is my card for the Challenge -
I decided to try and use all the elements!

I started with a square white card blank, matted with lemon then
a designer paper of lavender, light blue and gold.

I added a layer of lace - this is a lace stamp embossed with gold embossing powder on a background of yellow Brusho on watercolour paper.

My next layers involved a butterfly background - using watercolour paper with Versamark through a Butterfly stencil and then white embossing powder which I heat set. I then brushed over spritzed yellow Brusho. This was trimmed and placed on a rectangle of light blue.

The sentiment is from Graciellie Designs Friends Set.
This was printed, trimmed to size and backed with the pale blue card.
Finally I added a butterfly sticker.

I will add this to the Challenge.

Happy Little Stampers Video - Dandelion Wishes

Today I have a brand new video tutorial using stamps from
Happy Little Stampers 'Dandelion Wishes' stamp set.
This is a lovely set featured in the recent new release:

Although these are dandelion 'clocks', they remind me of our Alium head Christmas decorations...

Anyway, I wanted to show you how to make a set of tiny cards
on which the main features are stamps from this set.

 Thank you for watching!

Addicted to Stamps and More - CAS Challenge #284

Here's my CAS card...for the Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

I started with a tiny white card base (4 by 4), matted it with yellow and then added my image piece. I had masked this with torn card and applied Distress Ink to the gap. I then overstamped the image and added the sentiment.

The image and sentiment come from Happy Little Stampers

Look again tomorrow to see a video of how I made a card like this...

Hope you will enter the Challenge!

Ike's World Challenges #106

Today I would like to show you my make for Ike's World Challenges!

The current Challenge (#106) is Anything Goes with the Optional Twist of Movie Madness

and this is my midway post...

If you pop over to Ike's World Challenges you will find there is a super freebie to pick up...

Zeus

You might like to use this for the Challenge - but your image is free choice!

I have made a set of  ATCs....
Using Tropical fishShark, Zeus, Clockwork Orange and Sherlock

The first two start with blue card bases matted with a background made with spray and Brusho

I coloured the clown fish with Zig real brush pens and cut out - this could be Nemo!!

I coloured the Shark again with Zig pens and cut it out...I was thinking of Nemo's shark rather than Jaws!

Here are my next three...

Next I went for Zeus...black card then gelli plate pull. Zeus coloured with Promarkers, cut out and with a wooden embellishment.

Next - Clockwork Orange coloured with Zig pens, black card, orange card, then the image and a few gems.

And Sherlock coloured with Promarkers, trimmed to size and distressed with 'weathered wood'. Black card, purple DP, image and a few question marks.

Finally I will post again a set of Easter bonnet ATCs that I made using
Hat set of 4 two years ago.

I wonder if we will see Easter Parade on television again this year?

But enough of my Movie Madness....some exciting news...

IKEsART is being featured in the March/April issue of the
THROUGH THE CRAFT ROOM DOOR Magazine

Ike has drawn three exclusive images for readers of TTCRD.

Members of the DT have given some of their work to be published in the article too.

I always rather liked the two pieces I provided:
