During October you will see many Halloween-y projects on my blog as I am joining in with
Find Leigh's main post here
This is my 12th year in succession of joining in with 31DOH!
As I am in Australia I am 18 hours earlier than Leigh at the moment!!
Gorgeous illustration explaining a Halloween game from the past. Postcard circa 1910!
In September I altered a plastering float that I found in a charity shop.
However I found that because I had to hang it from the handle it didn't hang well and it annoyed me! I decided to repurpose it putting the decoration in one of my junk journals - it came off very easily!!
This time I decided to lie it on its face with the handle up. I then used this to attach a strip of torn corrugated card. I dripped ink along some of the corrugations and add a bit of distressing. The next step was to add fibre and the toadstools I had painted.
My next step was to add a collage of images from BeeArty (fussy cut from a paper), Gecko Galz, Conjurer of Dreams (all just printed and fussy cut), Smeared ink (no longer trading - coloured with markers and fussy cut) and Leigh (printed, coloured with markers and fussy cut):
In this picture I was just auditioning them...
When I was happy with the positions I stuck them in palce and added the BOO - these were metal seat letters from an old stadium that I painted with neon orange. This was the final result:
And here it is on my old sewing machine with some more ephemera.
I always like to add the skeletons hopping!
