Owl ATC

This month's theme at UK ATC SWAP is OWLs...

So here's my first!!

This uses the die I had sent out from Mary Rose Card and Craft in Derby.
I was just testing if and when something could be sent to India!

Anyway I love this pair of owls with gears!!
I die cut them and matted them onto turquoise cardstock.
I then layered these onto a textured red cardstock base
and added googly eyes, a lovely owl and a gear...

I am going to link this to Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge - add a die cut

Watch out for my other owl ATCs...I need to make 5...

GDT at Delicious Doodles

I was so pleased to be asked to be GDT for Delicious Doodles Challenges this month!

Especially when the theme this week was "Use you favourite DD image"!!

Last Christmas my favourite DD was the Celtic Christmas tree and

 as you can see a little from the picture above I used it many times!!

My new favourite is the DD Celtic Cross!

I ended up making a  couple of cards - the first one started with a white card blank matted with greens - a basic mat followed by a die cut and Celtic ribbon.

 I then added the Celtic Cross and the sentiment, both printed on green card 

and matted and layered onto black and green shapes.

 I thought I would add the purple die-cut flower -

 but then I decided I preferred these small brown flowers!

That was my first card  -

 my second started with a square red card blank matted with a textured gold card.

I printed the DD image several times on a parchment vellum.

The first image was coloured and trimmed into a square shape and layered onto the gold card.

The second image was coloured and fussy cut

 around the edge of the circle and cross and attached with dimensionals.

The third image was just the cross added with dimensionals.

I used red Promarker and gilding flakes on the images with finally 4 red gems!

Loved making these cards!

Itty Bitty cards

The challenges have changed at Get Inky!
- now each time will be a month long with the title Get Crafty this Summer!!
Pop over and take a look!

In the meantime I have been making 'Itty Bitty cards' - Just about 3x3 inches square...

My cards are just ever so slightly bigger than 3x3...

I wanted to use Martha Stewart edge and corner punches... 

To punch as shown you need to first cut a 3.25 x 3.25 in square.

I punched the shapes and then adhered to tiny scored and folded card blanks.

Inside my cards I added a lovely vellum interior -

 I'm not sure if you can see in the photo! -

 and I had some suitable envelopes in my stash!

Then I added the owls - these were from the Inky Moonbeams Club

It was a digi of three 'owl girls'. Having printed them and gilded parts with gilding flakes,

I stuck them in place and added the hearts and flowers.

While I was making these, I decided to go a little bit festive - the same punched mat
but with a couple of embellishments...

Just spent the weekend in Srinagar!

Absolutely beautiful!

 Had my embroidery with me but that was it for crafting!!

So now that I'm back,  I just made a little ATC...

Matted and layered in shades of brown and yellow - the stamp is a border stamp I have had around for ages plus the SU hearts on stalks from 'Valentine Defined'

 stamped a couple of times without reinking (Archival coffee).

The butterflies are from SU's Beautiful Wings die cut.

Finally a fairy embellishment...

New Challenge at Just For Fun Challenge Blog!

The new Challenge just started at Just For Fun is

Here Comes Summer!!

Hope you will join us!

'Here comes Summer' to me means flowers and butterflies...

I decided to try and get back into 'my own style'.

If you have followed my blog for a while you will know that the butterflies on this card are the ones that I have made into a sort of trademark.

They are made of three butterflies die cut from SU's Beautiful Wings

 and tied together with twine. 

The Poppy image is one from Indigo Blu - another favourite.

I stamped this with coffee archival ink on a parchment vellum.

I started with a brown square card blank and first added this beautiful hand-made paper -

 hand torn to a rough square.

(I discovered a super hand-made paper shop yesterday - Bombay Paperie!!)

I then added some strips of Washi before my poppy and butterflies...
