St David's Day - March 1st

As it is St David's Day today,

I decided to make 'daffodils' using a heart punch,
and leaves and stems cut from green card...

I used one to make the tag on the left:

That ribbon in the middle is actually dark green but somehow the photo makes it look blue!
I used left over pieces of wrinkle-free distressed paper as the background - I had die cut the bird for the tag on the right so I had the negative (Tim Holtz Caged Bird)!

Anyway what this post is really about is a sketch:

This sketch is from Paper Smooches

Anyway, I had a look through my yellow scraps folder (the photo is not very good, I'm afraid, but all those scraps are yellows) and here is my take on it:

I have used two Paper Smooches Freebie images - the sun and the sentiment. These digis I printed directly onto the DP and orange textured paper and then trimmed or punched them.
The bottom layer uses SU's 'topnote' die - one of my favourites!
The card base is scored and folded very pale yellow card.

Happy Crafting!

  1. Lovely card. Great choice of sentiment to go with the images - let's hope we get some nice periods of sunshine after all this rain. I love how you've made the daffodils, and using the negative of the bird is very effective as well.
