Happy Little Stampers - Mixed Media - Distress

Here is my inspiration for the HLS MIxed Media Challenge - Distress

This is the September page of my mixed media calendar - if you have been following my blog you will have seen each month as it unfolded...

I started the calendar in January...these are the details of the back plate if you've missed it

I started with a piece of plywood 'burned' with electricity
as detailed here in my blog in November.
I painted around the edge with black gesso.

I added square cards using rings at the top.
These cards flip over for successive months.
I added a calendar pad at the bottom on layers
of red card and DP from Graphic 45 An Eerie Tale.

For September's card I started by stamping a medallion stamp using Versamark and an opaque embossing powder. I used a nesting die to cut this down to size and three dies to cut out three butterflies.

I used a variety of distress inks to add colour to the butterflies and the medallion and then replaced the butterflies. I added this motif to a background of 'wrinkle free distress' which was matted on a square of dark red card.

'September' is an Inkadinkado stamp, stamped with Stazon.

Happy Crafting!
