It's Wednesday and I am showing you one of my desks again...

Here's my desk picture for WOYWW 587!
This is where early Wednesday morning found me - although the desk was unchanged until I took the photo at twenty past one...
I got up at 6 am so that I could join in with a Zoom meeting, and my crafty friends in the UK, - their Tuesday evening, my Wednesday morning.
Lots of chat and I did do a few stitches of my cabbage!
It was also my Book Club Zoom meeting last night too - AND I had actually finished the book - this is a first since I rejoined this book Club 4 months ago (I used to be in it 15 years or so ago!) The book was The Weekend by Charlotte Wood - has anyone read it?
So...what can you see? Well, amongst other things:

This week I made a couple of double spreads in my journal - I joined another workshop with The Forget Me Not Kraft Kabin

September the 1st was the first day of Spring here in Australia and flowers are blooming everywhere...this is our garden:
However I still think of September being Autumnal
so I made my September calendar like this:
it certainly is blowing a gale today!
Finally I thought you might be interested in the Phillip Island Little Penguins that are being televised every day at 6pm as they come from the sea to their burrows.

ReplyDeleteLol at the And Finally!! Did you live in North Wales when you were in the UK? Penmon is rather lovely though I haven't been there for ages. Your crafty bits and pieces are looking great this week, you've got a lot of projects on the go!

We lived in Haverfordwest,South Wales from 1980 to 1984 then Moelfre on Anglesey from 84 to 92. We have visited countless times as well...doing the Menai Straits Regattas every Summer for many years.

ReplyDeleteWe had a caravan on Anglesey for several years so i know Penmon quite well and share your love of the place. Mind you I loved a lot of places on Anglesey - one of my favourite spots.

It must be difficult for someone brought up on the Northern Hemisphere to think of September as a summer month! Lovely colourful journal spreads! I often think of joining a book club, but I know I would struggle with deadlines. I'm a slow reader - I like to savour the stories. I know people who say they read a book a day - they must be speed reading - whereas if I find a passage I like, I read it several times! Plus, I tend to read long books 500+ pages - the longer the better - so it takes me at least a month to finish a book, sometimes longer. Love your blossoming garden. We still have a couple of months before the garden goes to sleep and I'm looking forward to the autumn colours - I love this time of year! Happy Wednesday! zsuzsa #18
ReplyDeleteGosh what a busy day you've had. I love your old sewing machine cabinet. My grandmother had one just like it. Loving the dog funny and the postcard explains the weather very well. It was nice here until about 2.00pm and then it rained and it still is. I need some nice weather tomorrow so that I can trim the dogs, hopefully. ReplyDeleteI'm sure I could never get used to the seasons being reversed if I ever moved to Australia, Susan! It seems so odd to be having spring in September! Lovely photos and great journal pages, and what a fun candlestick. Your old sewing machine is great. I've got my grandmother's treadle painted white with a glass top on it for a hall table. The sewing machine disappeared many moons before I got it. I love the sheepdog funny! Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting, and for your kind wishes re my ring - but it's now 5 days and still no sign of it so I think I'm going to have to resign myself to having lost it for good. I am so sad about it. I hope you enjoy the savoury lentil flatbreads if your hubby does make them.

ReplyDeleteMake sure you have a look at Pennon Priory and then drive through to see Penmon Point (small fee) and the lighthouse.

Your journal pages look fab, great idea to follow the class and then do it again to put your own spin on the lesson. Zoom book club sounds fun, I keep thinking about starting up a book club now I'm retired, also much easier now we have kindles and such I guess. Love the sheepdog joke! :D Annie C
