Kickstart your Art Day 4

is to Doodle it Up

I have often thought about having a go at Zentangling - but that's as far as I got...!!
Today I thought I better try...

I started with a piece of  'doodly' DP from my scraps -
and I doodled dots around the edge with liquid pearls.

I then took one of my favourite Smeared Ink digital images - Hallo Kitty and with fine red and black pens I added a few doodles.

I then took another Smeared Ink digi -  It's About Time hourglass and gave it the same treatment.
I added this with dimensionals.

Finally I stamped another of the Doo Lally Pip Create images with Versafine and then using the red and black pens again embellished it a bit...and then added it with dimensionals.

Happy Crafting!

PS - Do check out my Candy - the links are all working now!!

LOC 63#

Today's new Challenge at Left Of Center is 'kids stuff' and is sponsored by Bugaboo
I do hope you will join in with the challenge!!

I chose to  use Rock Star Boy

This is inspired by the sketch from Creative Moments

I used matting and layering papers and the guitar from DCWV Rockstar Mat Pack.
The horizontal band is Washi Tape.

Finally I need to add 3 stars...these were
 from my stash.

Hopefully I will link this to Creative Moments Sketch Challenge

Kickstart Your Art Day 3

DAY THREE CHALLENGE - MAKE A COLLAGE!

Definition of collage:a piece of art made by sticking various different materials such as photographs and pieces of paper or fabric onto a backing. A combination or collection of various things.

I think the most relevant part of this is the tag:

This is a sentiment from Doo Lally Pip - Create,
stamped with Versafine on a small tag from my stash.

I also stamped the following stamp, using opague embossing powder and then used TH Shabby Shutters Distress ink to reveal the image.

The stamp in the bottom left corner is a baroque flower vase printed straight onto DP.

My themes were 'vintage' and 'green' - the photo was a freebie from Dark Room Door.

I then just put it all together with other embellishments from my stash...

Happy Crafting!!

Wicked Wednesday ATC

Just a very quick post this morning...

The current Challenge at Wicked Wednesday is Snowmen.

Rather than using Olaf or that evil Snowman I found a different stamp...
Snowy Rubber Stamp from Penny Black.

I added some colour with Promarkers, Ice Stickles, and a few embellishments'

I will submit this to Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge.

Kickstart Your Art #2

DAY TWO Challenge - Use Lyrics from a song or poem

OK - so I am racing against time today...

I have an empty board, just matted with some DP from my stash ..."Starry starry night"?....

I decided I needed a moon.

These are stamped using triple stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps. I used 3 colours of Distress Ink - , antique linen, scattered straw, wild honey on handmade paper from Nepal!!

I then started thinking of my song - hope you can guess what it is...I have added two lines of the lyrics!

My image is Smeared Ink's Zombie Pin Up Tease

I added some torn starry DP, edged with Scattered Straw Distress and a few stars (from the cheap shop in India)

That's it for today! Song??

First Inspiration Post for SLS

I was absolutely delighted to be invited to join the Design Team of SLSLines
and here is my first Inspiration!!

I was so pleased to use Goth Girl with Heart Balloons.
I printed her out in two different sizes - small enough to fit on a 2.5 by 3.5 inch ATC and the usual size I print for a greetings card:

I coloured the two images identically with Promarkers using greys and one other colour - pink!

First I matted and layered the image on some BoBunny DP from my stash to make an ATC.
I just added ribbon, brads and a bow - all in pink.

My second make is a twisted easel card.
Starting with a square white card blank I scored a diagonal line
across the front from top right to bottom left.
I then added the front to the bottom triangle and the base to the inside .

Both pieces involve matting and layering DP from my stash.
I have used oval and rectangular nesting dies
and TH Spun Sugar Distress Ink to emphasise the shapes.
The sentiment is a stamp I have from Little Claire.
I have brads again from my stash and the stand is on dimensionals...

Do remember that the SLSLINES Portraits Challenge is still open
and we would love to see your creations there!

Hopefully this is a better photo:

A Step in The Dark...New Challenge

The 'Anything Goes' challenge starting today is sponsored by Dilly Beans!

I love the Dilly Beans images!!

My DT card  features #601 Rina's Lollipop Framed,
coloured with Promarkers.

I had seen this sketch on Sketch Saturday

I used it as inspiration but turned it through 90 degrees:

These sections are all DP from the Rockstar Mat Stack from DCWV.
I had intended using that washi tape but somehow if got forgotten!

The image was framed by a rectangle rather than a circle...and I put Rina to the right side rather than the left...

I rather liked the effect of the stripes of the banner...

but I then covered it up with my three flowers and pearls!!

I will link this to Sketch Saturday
Do pop by and join us at A Step in the Darkness!

Kickstart your Art

This is Day One of Kickstart Your Art at Smeared and Smudged

The Challenge runs for a week - I'm not sure that I will be able to join in until the end as I am taking my parents away for the weekend - no internet/no crafting!!

Anyway Day One Challenge - Create Layers...

I am using a 6 x 6 page for this challenge.

My first layer is some DP from my stash - not sure from where it came...

(sorry about some of my photos - the Winter light is so bad!!)

I then embossed a selection of papers to use as the next layer using my Big Shot.

I chose to use the maroon 'clocks'.
I trimmed it and matted it onto some pinkish DP again from my stash.

(At this point I began laying on bits and bobs to see what I might use as embellishments...)

The stamp I used above is Kaisercraft Tic Toc stamped using a custom re-inker stamp pad.
The sentiment I printed on my computer.
Both pieces are distressed round the edges with TH "Stormy Sky' and matted on the same pink DP.

Next I took Teri Sherman's Steampunk Heart (originally from Delicious Doodles).
(I was very pleased to win this in a recent Challenge!)

I used the 'Wrinkle Free Distress' technique to add colour to the image - using various colours of  Distress Ink, smeared on to my craft mat, spritzed with water and mopped up with the image.

I cut it out and again matted with the pink.

Finally I added some 'clock hands' - arrows punched from more 'Wrinkle Free Distress' paper.

I enjoyed playing!!

What do you think?
