LOC #89

The Challenge that starts today at Left of Center
is 'INSPIRED BY A SONG'
and I made a simple card...

A red card blank was matted with black embossed card.
The image was printed on white and red so that I could then paper-piece
the 'Lady in Red'!

Finally a few flowers from my embelly box...

I am also going to show you another card - this time inspired by a book rather than a song...
I recently took part in an Alice in Wonderland Blog Hop

celebrating the book's 150th anniversary.

I was very fortunate to win Alice and Friends from Teri and Delicious Doodles.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and used dark red card to mount it and the quote

“Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle.”

and matted a square white card blank with paper from graphic 45's 'Typography'.

New Challenge at Create and Inspire

Today another challenge starts at Create and Inspire
CHALLENGE 27
Our challenge is "anything goes"

This fortnight we have two great sponsors
Firstly using Lacy Sunshine's Buggmee Pyro Lightening, coloured with Promarkers.

I decided to use her as the main image on a 6 fold card.
(You will find a tutorial for a 6 fold card here)
A 12 by 8 piece of card is scored cut and folded as in the picture:

Using some super DP from my stash I matted back and front:

Ribbon is attached to the front to tie it up and on top is placed the image:

After untying the bow the card unfolds to show this...the vellum quote was from my stash...

and this...

I used a selection of letters from my stash to form the sentiment.

My second image was from Eureka - Flower Girl.  I printed it in two sizes and coloured it with Promarkers.

The first make is a simple card just the image layered on pink matting with some Lakeland picks to embellish!

The other is  a little ATC using Tim Holtz ATC die for the backing.
This time I printed twice so that I could cut the basket out again and place it on foam pads for some dimension.

Do go over to Create and Inspire
and see the other fabulous DT makes.
I look forward to seeing your creations in the Challenge!

Happy Crafting!

Altered tea cups...

I saw this photo on facebook...

and it reminded me of some tea cup decorations that I saw on a craft stall at Breaston Carnival.
Cups and saucers had been stuck together and suspended using ribbon.
They looked really pretty in the sunlight.

So this is my version...

The cups and saucers came from a
job lot at an auction...

My husband is not impressed - I think I need (at least) another to make a cluster...

Fun though...

Happy crafting!

LOC #88

The Challenge that starts today at Left of Center
is 'USE TEXTURE'
sponsored by ROSEY HEARTS

I have two makes for you today - the first uses this image - Jelly babe

And I made three ATCs...

The baby was coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.
I then had fun making the backgrounds.
I used a glue and seal type glue to add embossed paper and then textured shapes to three 2.5 by 3.5 chipboard rectangles.
When dry I painted them with white gesso.

I then added blue using Inka Gold.

Finally I added the images...

Great fun!

For my second make I used Girltangle coloured with Promarkers.

This time I used a pop out card blank.

I matted the middle section with spider web embossed paper. and added a  few stamped spiders.
Texture was also added using webby ribbon and feathers - finally I added some gems and flowers.

Newsprint ATCs

Today my Newsprint ATCs were posted at Facebook's
I am always very pleased when the Royal Mail does its stuff and my package arrives!

I called this set 'Black and White and Red all over'!

Each ATC started with a red 2.5 by 3.5 inches scrap of card.
I matted each with a rectangle of paper cut from the local newspaper.

On the first one I drew a spider's web with a red fineliner and stamped it in red with my little Las Vegas spider stamp. I then added a bead and some ribbon

On the other four I stamped each in red with a stamp from a Tim Holtz set
and then adding red embellishments - ribbon, butterflies, buttons, hearts and flowers...

I will link this set to That Craft Place Challenge Words

Happy Crafting!
